You apparently know the history of this group. Can YOU provide proof of what you say? I am a Christian and I don't condone murder in ANY form. You made a serious statement but it might help to back up what you say with proof. I have been a Radio Amateur for over 52 years and while I DO NOT condone the language I've heard this evening, I also haven't heard ONE THING on this net we don't agree with here on this forum.
It’s a good english word.
A colorfull metaphor.
Certainly all such words are entirely too good for what he was attempting to describe. But I know, it’s panti wadding time. Lets all get our knickers in a snit while the gang rape of Gvt. assassins get away with murder.
I’ve been a ham since 1992, got my Extra in 1993. I knew one of their members through the 3905 Century Club (Worked All States Award) Net that operates on 40 and 75 meters. The guy sitting in prison is Stephen Anderson (ex: AA8DP). Not only did he murder in cold blood, but he operated radio equipment illegally out of band. His licensed was revoked by the FCC in February 2001, over various FCC Part 97 Rules violations. I don’t condone the language either, yet by the same token, there are rules which we HAM RADIO operators must follow.
I've been licensed since January of 1957. Got my Novice at age 12, my General at age 13 and my Extra when I was 15. When we dropped the code requirements, we seemed to get a great influx of new Hams and not all of them think they need to abide by the rules in Part 97. My XYL is also a Ham and has been for 47 years. We both remember a time in Amateur Radio when a discussion that I have been listening to this evening would have NEVER taken place on the air. I guess it is a sign of the times. America is ANGRY and with good reason. That anger has spilled over into on-air conversations in Amateur Radio. The First Ammendment is alive and well on the Ham Bands.
I studied the Morse Code for about 15 hours a day for about a year, and since I was out of work at the time (22 years of age), I had time to kill.
When I took my General written exam, one of the examiners said to me to give the 20 word per minute code test a try and if I didn't pass, I could then take the 13. I gave the 20 WPM a try and passed with flying colors. So for the next 6 months, I studied for both the Advanced and Extra written, passed both at the same test session. My Novice become effective on 08-24-92 and my Extra become effective on 08-24-93. Exactly one year to the day.
Macaca revisited in Virginia.
Oh F CNN!
let the one who has never uttered any profanity throw the first stone.........
Would it be possible for government (not that ours WOULD, of course) to shut down ham radio? I don’t know anything about it. Is there a ham radio ping list on FR?
Of course it would. Ham radio was shut down by our government during WW2 and I'm sure Obama would shut it down any time he felt it was a threat to his agenda.
How did the Government physically achieve it during WWII? I’ve read about assorted Resistance movements broadcasting from portable radios, and the Nazis driving around with detector vans trying to catch them.
2) anyone involved in politics who is remotely "shocked" by the word should find a different passtime/profession
3) anyone who believes that a seasoned politician would blurt something like that out on the airwaves is too stupid to vote.
Having said all that, this is what I think he should have said:
I've proposed twelve effing mechanisms for transportation and all you effing morons can focus on is my effing thesis.
That would be a thing of beauty.
That it would, my FRiend. That it would.
effing “A”
Only once? He WAS being interviewed by Mark Plotkin, “political analyst”, after all.
I am tempted drop the F-bomb every single time I hear that ignorant, socialist, lib-tard, D.C. voting “rights” fanatic open his f*%$ing mouth.
See there? I did it just THINKING about him!
I can’t STAND Mark Plotkin and I wish he would go back to Minnesota or Wisconsin or Illinois or wherever the heck it is he picked up that annoying accent of his.
Speak for yourself!
;^)
That was hilarious.
I probably should have added that I read about this happening during WW2 but I came along in 1943 so I wasn't much aware of whether Amateur Radio had been COMPLETELY shut down. Amateur Radio Operators are a 'self policing' lot. We don't (at least for most of us) condone unlawful operation as it pertains to Part 97 of the FCC rules. We worked hard to get our licenses so we tend to value the privileges our licenses permit.
