Sydney - Australia's 250,000 Muslims complained of discrimination Saturday after laws were proposed banning shops from opening at Christmas and Easter to give retail staff more family time.
Islamic Friendship Association head Keysar Trad said all religious holidays should be covered not just some of them.
'It does give the impression that we are a solely Christian nation and it raises the issue of other religions too, whether you are Hindu , Buddhist, Muslim,' he said. 'There are only two Muslim public holidays, so it's not a lot to ask.'
A spokesman for the New South Wales state government said that although the proposed holidays were Christian-oriented, the new law was not about religion but 'about allowing workers to spend time with their families.'
They wouldn’t have this problem if they slither back to where they came from.

If a person is not happy in the country he resides in; then he should pack it up and head for the country he feels most comfortable in.

As long as the Muslim population remains around 1% of any given country they will be regarded as a peace-loving minority and not as a threat to anyone. In fact, they may be featured in articles and films, stereotyped for their colorful uniqueness:

If you follow that thought to its logical conclusion you would end up with only a handful of workdays every year.
If you are a private business owner we will recognize your right to operate your shop within the law as you see fit. You can close your shop anytime you like.
Sure we will recognize your holidays if you point them out to us on the calendar. However we will not place an imposition on the vast majority of business owners to please a tiny fraction of the population.
Certainly you as individuals are free to take vacation or unpaid days off to celebrate your holidays if you so desire (with concurrence of your employer of course)
We are after all a civilized and enlightened culture as opposed to the majority of Middle Eastern nations that prohibit the celebration of non-Muslim religious holidays, let alone the construction of non-Muslim houses of worship, or the worship period of non-Muslim gods.

there are many islamic nations on earth; those nations, and their nationals, should recognize, it really is O.K., for there to be christian nations (or buddist or hindi etc) on earth, too, and nothing should be demanded of christian nations insofar as modifying their national traditions, that islamic nations aren’t also willing to modify when it comes to appeasement of the christian (buddist, hindi, etc) immigrants in their own islamic nations. jmo

I quite agree with the other replies - Australia (and New Zealand too) were started as Christian countries, unfortunately so many Muslems are being let in. Trouble is that as in European countries where they flock by the millions, they expect\ their culture should not only be accommodated but honoured as higher than that of their new country, then they start making demands which the host country inexplicably allows!
If they want muslem holidays - go back to where they came from and make the demands there - and see what happens!
