I always thought he was a little overrated at that time, just as he was way underrated by the end of his Presidency. He did what he had to do and I can't think of a single person who was better suited to guide us through 911 and the aftermath. Someone up there always looks out for this country of ours and places the right guy in the right place at just the right time.

I guess you won’t be capable of understanding that saving your money in a cookie jar is for idiots, but if you invest in a bank or other financial institution you’ve allowed someone else the power to spend your money. The economy flourished under Bush after the needed tax cuts and despite the expense of the war on terror that kept us safe enough to recover our economy.

GWB got himself in a huge political corner with Iraq by early 2004. Look back at the spending, the weakness in Iraq prior to the surge(using soldiers as IED detectors) , all the money printed and spent(inflation, boom and bust.) It was all short term strategy to win 2004+2006, except it only worked the first one 2004.

He did win 2004 big, but everything went wrong after that. And you know what? many so called conservatives that partially disown him now only cared about the elections short term too,
