Key members of the Senate Finance Committee, who are expected to play a pivotal role in the final struggle over revamping healthcare, on Friday sought to extinguish the latest brush fire – a furor over possible benefits for illegal immigrants. Committee members ended their closed-door deliberations yesterday without reaching agreement on a response, but work is scheduled to continue into the weekend on the immigrant and other questions. "What we're trying to prevent is anybody who is here illegally from getting any federal benefit," said Sen. Kent Conrad, D-S.D., a member of the so-called "Gang of Six" that has been working on the overall healthcare compromise.
At issue is whether the proposals being worked out by congressional Democrats with the support of President Obama would make benefits available directly or indirectly to persons who are not in the United States legally.

Obama said that anyone claiming that illegal immigrants would get benefits was lying! So, are the the members of the Senate Finance Committee lying, too?
The obvious solution is to make everyone standing on American soil legal.

Their discussion might be a mute point. The OBAMA/DNC plan is to legalize the illegals by fiat...so, of course, they will be eligible for ObamaCare. These are TWO big fires to stomp out.

I would give them emergency healthcare but would take them to the border and then take charges out of any funding we give. Mexico would stop it quickly.
But Obama sees them as the ticket to his election and 2010 dems. any healthcare he gives them will be better than Mexico.

The US Senate has got to be the BIGGEST CLOWN HOUSE on planet earth. The Ring leader is Juan McSTOOGE with his reach across the aisle BS and his so called “Maverick” demeanor. The only thing MAVRICK about McSTOOGE is his total disregard for the Citizens of the USA!

Meaning they are working on the language for a double, triple, talk lie.
Support the Republican American Identity Health Care Initiative. Proof of citizenship must be provided at admission or hospitals can charge up to $800 non-citizen fee. I think this will go a long way to clearing our crowded emergency rooms.
