HARARE (AFP) – President Robert Mugabe on Friday lashed out at Western sanctions against him, condemning "bloody whites" for meddling in Zimbabwe's affairs, on the eve of a landmark European Union visit.
"Who said the British and the Americans should rule over others? That's why we say down with you. We have not invited these bloody whites. They want to poke their nose into our own affairs. Refuse that," he said.
"We have stood stood firm and we have refused to let go. Zimbabwe, sanctions or no sanctions, Zimbabwe remains ours," he told a gathering of his party's youth wing.
Mugabe spoke ahead of the first EU high-level visit in seven years led by aid chief Karel De Gucht.
The team will visit the nation to meet with Mugabe and his one-time rival Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai who joined him in a unity government in February.
The EU and the United States imposed sanctions on Mugabe and his inner circle following a disputed presidential poll in 2002, which western nations as well as independent local poll monitors described as flawed.
"Why are they sanctions? Why are our people being punished? It is because the imperialists want our heritage," he said

The Zimbabweans had better get rid of Mugabee one way or the other then change the name of the country back to Rhodesia.
And remember - he can NOT be a racist cause he is black.
He may be racist or it could just be a ploy to create a scapegoat to grow his power or both, probably both, either way he needs to burn.

Resurrecting the name ‘Rhodesia’ would be meaningless unless one could get the real Rhodesians (black and white) to return. Most are dead or have emigrated. It’s over for this little paradise.
What heritage? What great inventions do we want to steel, what great world-level music, what poetry? What great libraries do want to raid?
Africa, just like most of the Muslim world, lives 100% on European achievements attained in the last couple of centuries. And they are not even wise enough to copy the successful inventions, most importantly, capitalism (enforcement of property rights).
Zimbabwe is broke and starving. When Mugabe dies there is a very good chance they will be broke, dying and in a civil war. Not many good options there.
This is further proof that the evil, racist dictator isn’t very smart. He smears the ‘whites’ for interfering in Zimbabwe’s affairs to protest sanctions that prevent his country from getting aid from ... whites.

White people must be nuts. I mean really nuts. Why would the EU even want to talk to this piece of work? There will be times where at some point, it should occur to EVERY human mind that “negotiating” just is no longer an option. It’s basic instinct, fight or flight.
