A pro-family values California lawmaker who resigned after being caught on tape boasting about his sexual conquests denied Thursday that he had extramarital affairs, saying that "my offense was engaging in inappropriate storytelling."
Mike Duvall stepped down Wednesday after a videotape surfaced in which was overheard telling a lawmaker about having sex with a lobbyist and another woman, including salacious details about how one mistress wears skimpy underwear and likes to be spanked. The 54-year-old Republican is married with two adult children.
But Duvall said Thursday that his "decision to resign is in no way an admission that I had an affair or affairs."

Either he WAS telling the truth before (grounds for resigning) and is lying about such now (more grounds),
or he was lying back then, which is still grounds for losing his office: Unbelievably poor judgment in tale-telling (bragging about bedding lobbyists with business before his committee).
He did what Republicans almost always do at the first whiff of a scandal - resign.
I can’t recall ever seeing a Democrat resign yet over any kind of scandal...have you?

Well, yes, but do you automatically believe him, when he earlier said he did commit adultery? Look, there is a distinct possibility he was trying to be a big shot when he was bragging about his exploits, and he never did it, but all-in-all he's not looking good.
