FWIW, everytime the British PM makes a speech to Parliament, the opposing side yells out stuff like "LIAR" all the time. It never makes the news because it's just all too common.

Joe was the one memorable thing about the speech. I sent a fax to him thanking him for his honesty. OK he apologized for the “incivility.” But in these times being a bit brash is fine with me.
I didn’t watch much of the speech .... I’d hate to think what I’d see if the camera panned to Snowe or Collins. Gag, barf.

I don't mind so much that he apologized. It was the civilized, polite thing to do. And he needs to be able to get work done. I'm still happy he said what he did and detracted from the the whole lying speech thing. For THAT, I'm sending him money!
I don’t disagree. But now that it’s happened, we still won - millions clearly heard “YOU LIE” (or “YOU’re a LIAR”)...and millions saw Zero seething with anger and Pelosi’s head about spin off her neck.
Joe spoke for all the Town Hallers whose character and honor have been attacked by Zero’s hatchet men - and of course for those who know he just called Sarah Palin a liar.
It’s ok that he apologized - he did NOT retract what he said.
