Heads up if anyone is using recently purchased green onions................
SALINAS, California — Two California produce shippers have recalled thousands of cases of green onions supplied by an onion farm in Mexicali, Mexico, over fears the onions could be contaminated with salmonella.U.S. Department of Agriculture inspectors found salmonella in a routine test taken in New York last month. No illnesses have been reported.
Officials notified the shipper, Salinas-based Steinbeck Country Produce. The company issued a voluntary recall Aug. 28 for 3,360 cartons.
Steinbeck's produce was distributed in California, Massachusetts, Texas, Indiana, New York, Michigan, Missouri, Kansas and Arizona.

Does anyone here think the on/off cycle of spray in the veggie dept at their grocer washes the veggiess so you dont do it at home?

I actually canned dill pickles for the first time in years, because the cucumbers were taking over, and the dill is everywhere!

Hmmm, I wonder: is it possible the administration might have cut yet another sleazy secret sweetheart deal like the ones they got caught making under the table with PhRMA, Goldman Sachs & GE?
Except maybe this time with somebody like, oh I dunno... Charmin???
Did the TP maufactuers even ask for a bailout?
Regardless, their shareholders should sure be happy with company coffers becoming newly flush with cash thanks to the bureaucratic delay on this one. ;-)
