Arrest warrants have been issued in Miami for 11 people suspected of falsifying information on hundreds of voter registration cards last year. The FBI and state authorities were making arrests Wednesday. The workers being sought were hired to register voters by the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN. Prosecutors say they were first notified by ACORN about problems with workers in June 2008. Republicans and conservative activists have accused ACORN of fraud in voter registration drives around the country. ACORN officials say the Florida case proves the organization is committed to an honest process. The case involved nearly 900 fraudulent voter cards in the Homestead area.

Don't doubt me. I was in a corporate situation that was looking at the over time mess a few years ago. The distinction was not that we didn't want to pay over time, we were trying to follow federal (a bunch of Bravo Sierra) guidelines on who was eligible.
We had a complete dept. that revolted, because even though our title for them as a type of technician would make them eligible for salary AND Overtime (non exempt) But they demanded to be considered Specialized Engineers which moved them into Exempt status and thus no longer eligible for overtime. Their pay grades did not change .. They wanted the title more than the moneyGo figure.
All we wanted to do was clarify those elgible for Ot vs those that were’t ... we cam out ahead dollar wise.
Idiots. Meaningful .. even false meaning empowers some people. Janitors/Sanitation engineers. Go figure.
Eleven turned in. Those eleven turns in at least three more top level folks and the hits just keeps on coming.
I'm sure that ACORN will say that these were 900 isolated incidents, and not representative of ACORN as a whole.

We need to demand that any federal funding of this fraudulent group be immediately frozen, and any involvement they would have had in the US Census be unequivocally stopped.

The comparison between the AP article a the Fox article was interesting, but the AP article editorializes the story as follows:
“ACORN, which stands for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, has long been accused by Republican and conservative activists — fed by talk-radio hosts — of fraudulently registering voters. But Miami-Dade prosecutors gave credit to the group for coming forward and ACORN officials said they felt vindicated.........It shows that we take the integrity of our voter registration work with the utmost seriousness,” said ACORN spokesman Brian Kettenring. “We turn in people who try to game the system.”
That one deserved a BARF ALERT.
Because the people collecting the registrations are poor people. They get paid a set amount for each registration card they turn in so they falsified some. It’s dishonest and they cheated ACORN.
Another one under the bus, and the voter fraud continues after that obligatory sacrifice.
How about a counter group with a different acronym? Can anyone come up with something juicy for: PECAN, BURGERNFRIES, TWINKIES, CRACKLIN, FUNNELCAKE, WATERMELON or FROGLEGS? C’mon. Any volunteers?

It would have been interesting to be a fly on the wall when those workers were given their instructions.
ACORN is pristine, but it’s workers in a number of states weren’t? Evidently ACORN’s hiring practices aren’t too sound, if a lot of it’s workers turn out to be criminals in a number of locations.
It would also be nice to know what warnings ACORN recently received if any, from the Justice Department regarding these very workers.
How about “THEOAKS” or just “OAKS”?
Those workers were plants! They deliberately got caught so that the FBI could investigate us!
