Administration’s Suggestions for Teachers: Read Books about Obama, Post Obama Quotes on Classroom Walls Tuesday, September 08, 2009 By Terence P. Jeffrey, Editor-in-Chief

(CNSNews.com) - The “corrected” lesson plans the U.S. Department of Education is suggesting that schools around the country use to turn President Obama’s speech to students today into a “teachable moment” still call for teachers to read books about Obama and to post quotations from Obama in large print on classroom walls.

The Department of Education created two “menus of classroom activities” for use with the president’s speech. One is designed to guide Pre-K through 6th grade teachers, and the other is designed to guide 7th through 12th grade teachers.

The “menus” caused some controversy last week because the original version for Pre-K through 6th grade suggested that students, “Write letters to themselves about what they can do to help the president.” In the corrected version, the guide now calls for students to: “Write letters to themselves about how they can achieve their short-term and long-term education goals.”

However, the corrected Pre-K through 6th grade “menu” currently posted on the Department of Education Web site and linked from the White House Web site suggests that teachers of Pre-K through 6th grade classes read books about Barack Obama in order to “build background knowledge” for instructing students about the president and his speech.

Culturally, Obama is not an American. Doesn’t matter where he was born — he doesn’t share our values or worldview. He sees himself as a dictator of a banana republic. That’s his dream. He is not to be questioned, he is to be worshipped.

I want to make a comment “So I assume it’ll be read at naptime to put them to sleep?” but I don’t want to be banned for advocating torture to children.

Also - I heard some kommie moonbat on the radio saying how se was going to pull her brats from school in a nonparticipating district so they COULD view the Obozo’s speech at home. Made me sick.

That's straight out of the Pyongyang handbook for creating a cult of personality.

Kim Il-Sung would have asked no more than what the Kenyan Clown is asking.

Pete Carroll is a big Baraq backer.
Maybe SoCal can become the Fighting Baraqqis.
The mascot can have a giant “O” head.

I have to disagree. Obama doesn't see himself as the dictator of a banana republic, that would be far beneath his self-vision.

Obama sees himself as the messiah of change, the chief revolutionary who will turn the USA into a progressive, socialist world power.

He sees himself much as V.Lenin once did. He chooses not to see how that worked out.

In the public interest, I offer these select quotes.

I hope teachers will post them as “teachable moments”.

“I’ve now been in 57 states”

“Why can’t I just eat my waffle?”

“On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes — and I see many of them in the audience here today”

“I don’t know what the term is in Austrian”

Go and get a copy of “Black Mischief” by Evelyn Waugh.

When you read about Seth, the dictator’s, Birth Control Festival you’ll crack up.

When I was a young teacher on the Apache Reservation we had a government sponsored Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Day, (the government was against it), but the message was so massaged and correctified that it got utterly buried. I remember walking back to the school from the community center with one of my students and asking seriously “What do you think that was all about?” He shook his head and replied seriously “I don’t know.”

Maybe post his current claim of not wanting a single payer health care system along with his earlier quotes about his aim of going to a single payer system. Then have a discussion on hypocrisy and political lying.

Who will share in the royalty payments? When has a sitting president requested people buy his books AND nobdy in the media talks about the conflict of interest?? If a million kids are telling their parents we have to buy this book for school - that is an outrage. But worse will they understand the using drugs and hanging out with Marxists in college was OK for me but not for theee?

POCKET OBAMA Product Description
This is the little blue book that right-wing partisans love to hate. Printed in a size that easily fits into pocket or purse, POCKET OBAMA is an anthology of quotations borrowed from Barack Obama’s speeches and writings, intended to keep the momentum going for those inspired by his message of hope and change. The portable book serves as a reminder of the remarkable ability of this man to move people with his words, a primer for readers who want to examine the substance of his thought and reflect on the next great chapter in the American story. His captivating oratory has earned comparisons to John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, and this collection presents words that catapulted his remarkable rise to the American Presidency and set a true course for the future. Includes themes of democracy, politics, war, terrorism, race, community, jurisprudence, faith, personal responsibility, national identity, and above all, his hoped-for vision of a new America. POCKET OBAMA is essential reading as we pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin the work of remaking America.

NOTICE the books below are NOT other books about Obama. I think this is VERY TELLING. I did not cherry pick, I only left out a very few that didn't seem relevant and it goes on & on I had to stop somewhere
