BOCA RATON - If a battle of the sexes is taking place on college campuses, women are the clear winners.
In Florida and around the country, women are graduating from college in record numbers, surpassing men in almost every degree category.
"I think that women are probably more mature as college students," said Sharron Ronco, associate provost at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, where women received 64 percent of all degrees in 2008. "They tend to come in with higher high school GPAs, and they tend to achieve better academically."

Schools have been tweaked for decades to eliminate everything boys need to learn, most importantly discipline.
My son graduated with a math degree. But all of the job offers were much less than the money he made as an irrigation tech working for his dad.
He has since gotten his licence and is now partners with my husband (and wondering why he wasted his time in college.)
I think entrepreneurs need college, but most guys are probably like Rush, wanting to just get into the business of their choice as quickly as possible.
I don’t think most females would be willing to take those kinds of risks.

I’ve read that many White males who have been shut out of the job market because of ‘diversity’ discrimination have been forced to start their own businesses and are (as the article stated) ‘quietly getting rich.’
Yeah, but also men who cannot afford to go to college, have to go to work, while women are usually sponsored by parents. Men cannot survive with the help from their parents(unless they are rich), while women do. Men have to have a car and money to date a girl; a girl does not have to have a car and/or money to date.
The tone of the article is “this is a good start, but there is more work to do before women dominate men in all areas of society”.
When the gender distribution of college degrees was reversed the left declared a national crisis pulled all the stops to promote girls in academics. Now that it’s clear their policies have been detrimental to boys and men their response is “We need more of the same.”
This is a national crisis for our young men and if we don’t respond our society is going to pay a heavy price.

About the only people needing college are those that cannot reasonably expect to obtain the necessary resources for learning, such as doctors and mechanical or chemical engineers.
The common degrees, such as “Business Communications”, are wastes of time and money.
It is typical liberal politics: pitting groups against each other as opposed to preaching harmony. A couple of years ago, I came across a few college age students (all female) holding clipboards and standing on various street corners. Whenever someone passed, correction, whenever “certain” people passed, I heard them ask “Have you been discriminated because of your gender, race or sexual preference?” Prior to knowing, I approached one and asked what was happening and she told me bluntly to “have a good day” without even discussing the subject nevertheless the reasons. I guess to the liberals only “some” people have it tough.

"We need to find out why so many men aren't staying in school," said Ed Moore, president of the Independent Colleges & Universities of Florida, which represents the state's private colleges. "It's a serious issue that the state needs to address."
Perhaps he should ask Bill Gates, who achieved some manner of success in life despite being a college dropout.
This is kind of interesting - lately, I’ve been noticing that in engagement announcements or wedding annoucements that the young lady is a college grad but the guy has only graduated from high school...hmmmm....I find this rather odd or maybe not...new trend?
Are there any all male colleges left? Would more of them be a good idea, or not? Wouldn’t it help to encourage more men to become teachers themselves?

Liberals love tossing men out on the street. It was the primary reason behind welfare. And “take your daughter to work” day? How about “take your child to work” day?
Are there any all male colleges? Good question. We hear that all girl colleges or historically black colleges fulfill a need to educate those groups. But what about men?
I’m waiting for the gay/lesbian college to start up. Don’t laugh, there’s already a gay/lesbian high school in New York City. If enough wealthy gays got together, they could endow a college.
This is no surprise. Based on the youngsters i’ve met in recent years the girls are more serious students and a lot fewer of them are total wastes of space.

I have never heard sooooooooooo many excuses other than some segments of the black and Latino communities.
Women are finally showing what they are made of! For THOUSANDS of years men/religion contained their brains and kept them at home to serve man. Just a peak in the bible will show you where men have abused the words to do such acts.
In fact, LOOK at what ISLAM has done in the middle east to KEEP WOMEN down. If those poor women can ever get the chance for education, look for similar results. Many families today have both the man and woman supporting the children with jobs. The fact that women on average perform better in education should not surprise anyone. We all know that men are superior in their physical skills, so why can't the females be just a little more accomplished in the educational field??
I have two kids, one male and one female. We invested WAY MORE TIME and MONEY in my son due to his inability to care about his future. He dropped out, got his GED and won't stay in college because he likes to get high... My daughter on the other hand is the exact opposite. She is PREZ of her senior h.s. class, PREZ of her h.s. national honor society, and has a GPA of 4.2 and is currently applying at several colleges.
I know this is just my sample, but I do think women “on average” do better than men because we are more mature than men on average.
I think we should just face the facts that they are differences in men and women. What are we afraid of???

You’ve got it completely right. It starts in elementary schools where boys cannot be boys and the curriculim is custom-made for girls to succeed.
Too many boys are turned off by 3rd grade and never recover. I personally know several exceedingly bright males who dropped out of high school, got their GED’s, and got on successfully with their lives. They couldn’t stand being in the public school classrooms.
If they’re so smart then why do they tend to be liberals and democrats in larger numbers than men?
When women require a male to have a PhD to get laid, PhD educated males will flourish.

As an employer myself, I can tell you that women employees have advantages.
Every manager (male or female) knows this. They give you a lot of talk about ‘balance’ and what a challenge it is to ‘balance home and work life.’
This is a not-too-elaborate bit of self deception. There is no balance. A woman employee will make work her primary concern and her family a secondary concern.
How many times have they sacrificed family life in favor of work?

The most important person in a serious career woman’s life is her boss, not her husband, children, or boyfriend.
Male employees don’t tell me to go to hell often, either - but they will do it from time to time. A woman almost never will.

We (on average) are simply more mature than men. You would agree that men are (on average) physically stronger right?? Why is it so difficult to digest that women are (on average)better at the books than men??

I work as a substitute teacher in a majority-minority school district. Among the Asians, the girls and boys are usually equally studious. However, among the blacks and Hispanics, the girls always seem to be the more studious ones. The pre-AP and AP classes are largely Asian. Most of the blacks in those classes are Nigerian females and the Hispanics are overwhelmingly female. I have also noticed that a large number, possibly even a majority, of the students in JROTC are Hispanic females.
"Excuses" Whose making excuses? Men may bitch about changes that forced them out of certain areas but such bitching becomes excuse making only if men are failing in finding alternatives and moving forward. The article points to men moving on and getting it done ANOTHER way (which aggression is a male trait).
If women are so powerful and dynamic why did it take “thousands” of years and a sliding scale of grading and a tremendous change in the rigor of the classroom for them start kicking everybody's ass? For instance: Did you know that way back in 1970 the entrance standards for Med. school were lowered to admit less qualified females? (I don't know about you but that sounds to me like a reasonably bitchable point even if one does not aspire to the profession)
Females do, on “average”, get higher grades than males. On average they are more intelligent. But it isn't the “average” that approaches and moves the leading edge. It is a combination of the higher rate of genius that occurs in males as well as the aggression in purpose that is definitive of most males.
“What are we afraid of?” Lately? Today? Say in the past 40 years? Usually any subject that describes anything that males as a group may have in the matter of talent over females.
And for the record: It wasn't only women who were pigeonholed (or assigned responsibilities as some put it) in our culture, males had to rise to expectations and responsibilities as well.
Warning: the truth makes leftists very angry. Biologically women on average are smaller than men. While the deviation is very wide on an individual basis, for large samples the average female brain is about 15% smaller than the average male brain. This partly explains the population level gender gaps in intelligence, test scores, incomes, and voting patterns. Many women are above average in intelligence and it makes sense to invest 20 years of formal education in them, however the pendulum of focus has swung too far. We are no longer allocating very limited educational resources in a free market manner so that prosperity is maximized. We are handicapping men for the purpose of leveling the playing field. While this appeases feelings of envy, it is destructive and evil. Once again leftist politics has created an artificial bubble that is unsustainable over the long term and has to pop at some point.
too many overtrained women who don’t maximize their education’s value because of the pull of mommyhood by mid 30s.

Thanks for exaggerating what I said. I made the observation that based on the stats in high school and in college women “on average” DO BETTER/MORE MATURE than males. It is a fact. On another note, men “on average” bail on their wives MORE than females. Can you say that here again they are less mature?? Or that men were “demoralized” culturally that causes them to leave their wives for the hotter, YOUNGER chicks??
Everyone is an individual, I agree. BUT you must also agree that men are physically stronger than females right? All I am suggesting or stating that women with all things being equal, outperform men in the education department. Not by too much, but the facts speak for themselves.
I am not a liberal, Hillary loving female either, SO don't go there.
I am a realist and know that there are differences between the sexes and not just in the physical capacity either.
I agree with what you said. Recently I read Churchill’s first volume about WW11. I was shocked to learn that England downsized their military so as not to appear to be pressing their advantage over Germany who had restrictions on their military after WW1. That attitude which always sounds so good usually ends up disastrously.
The "stats" as you call them are a result of decades of demoralizing males through media, hollywood, the arts and biased politics. It takes a toll just like the same did to females in the past...surprise, surprise. How on God's green earth could you have missed that if you are so stinking smart? Oh and the comment about men leaving women...laughable, women don't leave men? Pleeaazzzeee....
The title IX stick will be used until most natural science and engineering degrees go to woman to.
