Just when you thought the New York Times could not be any more partisan, biased and hypocritical, they go and pull a stunt that would make Janeane Garofalo blush.

The NYT never reported anything about Van Jones until he resigned.

a story lamenting the mainstream’s ignorance/tamping down of negative news re the left. That NYT for example didn’t print anything about vann jones until after he was fired...

From the article...
"So lets just call this latest round of bias and hypocrisy, one more self-inflicted mainstream media wound one of many that sooner or later will finish them off."
That, along with alternative avenues of news pretty much explains why the MSM is crashing. Primarily, they will destroy their own industry because their ideology is more important than their integrity.

The NYT never reported anything about Van Jones until he resigned. That's a "stunt"? And, why just the NYT? The entire MSM participated in the news black-out about Jones from day one.
Now, they're all in the unenviable position of having to explain to their viewers how this Van Jones controversy just "up and happened" without them seeing it coming.
Even the most hypnotized MSM watchers will scratch their heads and wonder why their trusted MSM didn't know that Jones was a racist, America-hating Communist.
Thanks for the synopsis.

FR is becoming blogger central. If they don't give me a good chunk of the story I don't click the link. No matter how interesting it might be. I've gotten into the same habit. I don't expect someone to post the entire content of a linked article, but Geez Louise...give me enough to at least know what the darn article is about.
I'll gladly click the link to read the balance of a really excellent article. I do it all the time. But, if a poster wants me to follow their link, they've got to leave some bait.

Unfortunately not.....all you need to do is look at the 2006 and 2008 election results to see that they still wield the big stick.

Janeane Garofalo can still blush?
A dog might, but Janeane is “evolved” far beyond that.
The NYT cannot even recognize their own hypocrisy. They are beyond irony. They have become a caricature of their former self, and sometime in future history, somebody will finally discover this cognitive dissonance, using it to write a penetrating doctoral dissertation.

Now, they're all in the unenviable position of having to explain to their viewers how this Van Jones controversy just "up and happened" without them seeing it coming. No problem for the MSM. They will "explain it" to people who don't do their own research, per the "fake but accurate" syndrome.
They will use short time reporting to avoid any debates from even RATs who may talk too much. There main line will be, as usual:
The far-right Conservatives lies and personal attacks brought this good man down, etc. Howard Dean already said on FOX "he was brought down, DC is a tough place!

I dont think the viewers of the MSM will notice anything. These people are brain dead. You know, every time we say this, another brain-dead American gets their wings and flies away from the MSM and into the light of truth.
Not trying to be overly poetic there, but the truth is that the MSM is losing viewers and readers at an unprecedented rate. Those ears and eyeballs are going to the New Media, just as we all once did. All of us had our epiphany at some point. There are newly awakened people arriving into our camp every day.
Yes, there will be many Americans that continue to snooze on to the drone of The Ministry of Truth, but many are snapping out of that hypnosis. We're gaining ground.

I agree, I post articles I write for a local newspapers blog and so I am not supposed to give no more than a portion with a link.
But my God, Free Republic gives you 300 words to post. Heck at 300 words I can give enough information to hook a whale in the ocean.
If I give so much information that you do not need to go to the link, Oh Well, that is the way it goes, but do not leave us hanging. Look at my many articles people and you will get a good idea of how to put the bait on the hook so you can bring in the readers.

No problem for the MSM. They will "explain it" to people who don't do their own research, per the "fake but accurate" syndrome. Yes, they will. And many of their viewers will suddenly see them for the liars they are. This is far worse than Dan Rather's trying to use faked docs to undermine George Bush.
In this case, Van Jones' own recorded, documented statements brought him down. You can't keep that sort of basic information hidden, even from your most ardent followers.
A lot of them will figure it out next week, or the next. When they do, they'll tune those formerly trusted voices out, and seek out better, more reliable sources of information.
