Could a form of martial law be imminent? Obama appears ready to cross the Rubicon, and all he needs is a killer virus.

Remember President Obama’s Executive Order basing 80,000 active troops at home for the first time in the history of the peacetime military establishment to “help with civil unrest and crowd control or to deal with potentially horrific scenarios such as massive poisoning and chaos in response to a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or high-yield explosive, or CBRNE, attack….”
Now connect that information to the recent announcement that the military has established regional deployment locations all across the United States to “assist civilian authorities in the event of a significant outbreak of the H1N1 virus this fall, according to Defense Department officials.”
Civil unrest and crowd control? Significant outbreak of the H1N1 virus this fall? What do they know that we don’t?
Swine flu has been made into a crisis in the minds of the public, even though swine flu, or H1N1, is the most non-lethal “killer” virus ever uncovered. As a cataclysmic event demanding military assistance, it ranks near zero. It is doubtful whether swine flu could even be classified as an “epidemic,” much less a “pandemic.”
Regular influenza, the common flu, kills 36,000 people every year. The 1918 flu pandemic killed an estimated 50-100 million people worldwide over a period of two years, approximately one-third the population of Europe at that time. Global swine flu deaths topped just 1,000 this year.

I’ve been beating this drum with co-workers and gun owners at the local gun range. I work for a hospital system, and we’ve not had a single reported incident except one employee in IT that had “flu-like symptoms.” I’m curious how much the media is hyping these numbers. They could lie to us (they have in the past) about the infection numbers or hype anyone with a fever and a sniffle as “potentially infected.”
29 years on this Earth and I’ve had the flu once... just once. Never get the flu shots. Take my vitamins everyday, eat right, exercise. I don’t have kids (yet), so I’m sure the little incubators are part of the infection problem. However, even working in a hospital, I don’t worry about it.
If they try to institute martial law, I would hope that the States would step in and say “not so fast,” especially with recent laws being passed in many states that prohibit the government from seizing lawfully-owned weaponry. Some goon from the CDC comes knocking on my door telling me I need to get a shot, they’ll be getting a shot from me, verbally and, if necessary, from the muzzle of a rifle.
Bring it on Obambi. Your lies and misdirections are only going to be tolerated for so much longer before the American people start hammering on you like we did Van Jones.

It wouldn’t surprise me if BO pulled a fast one and declared some action to stop the 9/12 march under the false pretense it is necessary to stop large public gatherings to prevent the spread of the swine flu.
Well, I've had almost double your years on earth and I only remember one time that I had the flu (around the year you were born), but it came at the end of a bad cold that went into a bronchial infection.
I've never had a flu shot, nor do I ever intend to get one.
I do not take vitamins, eat for crap and do as little exercise as is humanly possible. I don't do sick! The last time I had a cold bad enough to discuss was 16 years ago. I lived and I didn't take anything or go to a doctor.
Liberals always project their next move. They claim it is what they fear the most, but it is what they want the most. The misinformation and disinformation regarding H1N1 is on purpose, they will take advantage of it. If their tactics hold true, they will release something to make matters worse. They will faux overreact and create their martial law requirement.
As part of the avian flu ping group I have observed how other countries handle the outbreaks. Some downplay, some up-play but all the governments play the crisis.

I’m with you. Newspapers have blurbs such as, “University Struck By H1N1”, but when I ask my neighbors kid about his school and the flu, he said he didn’t know of anyone who was sick!
After Desert Storm, I worked in confined quarters with soldiers returning from the desert. My wife and I both experienced an upper respiratory (chest, throat and sinus) problem that laid us low each fall for several years. We seem immune to that now with out flu shots. If we survived these other influenza outbreaks, I guess we will make it with this Muslim Pig flu. Ozero can keep his shots and his martial law. We don't choose to play.

After reading about some states proposing pandemic responses, I also expect this to happen to shut down all rallies.
It’s not only IA (as discussed on FR recently), now it’s MA, FL, NC, WA.
CA, ME, MD, NB, NY, OH, TX, VA, WI have declared states of emergency without proposals as yet.
Barbara Fischer, president of the National Vaccine Info Center has good information on the so called epidemic. She said public health doctors have persuaded legislators to pass legislation regarding a response.
A natural disaster. We see it coming. We have had warning. With Katrina, Bush acted too slowly and not strongly enough. Obama won't make that mistake. He won't let us down. That's why we are all being marched off to the camps as soon as anyone sneezes.

You are probably a bit overoptimistic. 80,000 troops are surely selected for reliability. American soldiers will not be plunged into things overtly unConstitutional, they will be dipped gently into less and less kosher activities until they are used to it and will be rotated out of action when it is perceived they are getting nervous.
WOW, I did not know you could opt out of any shots the army said you needed. It is a wise decision on your part to avoid any shot the current usurper supports.
As an aside...my mom would get the flu shot every year and without fail would become deathly ill. One year her doctor (new) said it is flu shot time of the year. I told him I did not think it was necessary and informed him of her history with them. He agreed and her last 3 years on earth were lived free of the flu.

I agree, and I think this also goes for law enforcement. It will be a gradual thing; most Americans in those fields are Americans first and not loyal to Obama's Dear Leader cult of personality, so it will be necessary to trick them into it in some way by making it look as if it is really a good thing, helpful to America.

This was typical for the 'old fogies' like me who I worked with at the time. Every one of them 'got sick' (Muscle Aches, Joint Pains and Fever) after their Flu Shot.
As it *only*(/s) violates the Constitution and Bill of Rights in at least SIX PLACES; The 4th, 5th, 9th, 10th, 13th and 14th Amendments. So any CDC workers (aka ACORN) that come to my house bearing Hypos for me and my family, along with any DHS Jackbooted 'guards' bearing Sigs -- will be met with a Toxic Metal response in defense of my Rights -- in English: Hot Lead. I live in southern Missouri
A few years back some people were killed and the guy accused Ben Johns was running around here.
There was a major man hunt that included road blocks at every little intersection where all cars were stopped and searched.
Some of the LE were very professional a quick look in the cab of my pickup and I was on my way.
With some it was out of the truck and search the truck for him under seat in glove box. Teenage kids always seemed to get the close search and yes they found some drugs and they found some kids with beer.
They used the manhunt and some LE even said it was a chance to really shut down stuff in this area.
Some were very polite and some treated everyone like criminals.
There will always be those who will do their duty within the Constitution there then some of them are just bullies looking for an excuse to be knot-heads and those scare me

Griffin's source document ("Brigade homeland tours start Oct. 1" (at http://www.armytimes.com/news/2008/09/army_homeland_090708w/) notes that a Brigade Combat Team (BCT - maneuver units plus attached support elements) is being placed "on call" during their home-station dwell time between deployments.
Is this a good thing or a cause for worry? Let's look at a couple of points arising out of Griffing's article:
1. These BCTs are already based in the Continental US at any one of a number of existing military installations - nothing new on that issue. 1st BCT, 3rd Infantry Division is stationed at Ft. Stewart, Georgia, USA.
2. What is their mission? First and foremost, I am deeply concerned about this type of assignment, without knowing the details of their mission tasking. So (in preparing for the worst, but hoping for the best), we anticipate that they could receive a domestic policing or pacification response mission. Not a good thing by any stretch ("Posse Comitatus" anyone?).
On the other side of the "on-call" assignment coin:
(a) How will they be deployed in light of the current National Incident Management System (NIMS)? Federal assets don't get engaged unless/until the Local and State government agencies (1) realize that they don't have the resources available and (2) send up the request for more help to the feds.
(b) The logistics support effort that this element could provide would be a great supplement to the National Guard mission. Again, we should ask: How will the Incident Command be structured, and what is the mission for the Active Duty element? Being ready-to-go will reduce the response time that the socialists cried about during Katrina.
3. As to the number of troops in a BCT designated for this mission, it appears that Griffing slipped the decimal point a place to the right. A typical BCT runs around 6,000 - 8,000 troops, which includes the supporting (non-Infantry/Armor maneuver) elements. Not that 80,000 couldn't potentially end up being involved; just that we have about 8,000 "on-call" ready to help.

I think that we are seeing the hobbling of our enemies by the Lord. If they continue to fall on their own swords, then someone like Michelle or Sarah might stand a chance in 2012. Of course there will always be the 15-20% that will vote for their favorite wack job candidate who will be so swept up by their 15 minutes of fame that we will probably be right back in this crapper.
This is an avenue this bozo could use to incarcerate “extremists”.
