U.S. Hardens Stance Against Honduras (Unbelievable)
ABC ^ | 9/3/09 | Liz Gorman

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton moved to terminate aid to Honduras today in response to a June 28 coup that deposed its elected President Jose Manuel Zelaya. The U.S. also decided to revoke visas for officials in the de facto government and supporters of Zelaya's overthrow.

"Today's, you know, action sends a clear message to the de facto regime that the status quo is unacceptable and that their strategy, to try to run out the clock on President Zelaya's term of office, you know, is unacceptable. And the time has come for all the parties to sign the San Jose accords," State Department spokesman PJ Crowley told reporters.

We knew this was coming. Unfortunately for Obama and Hillary, 150 million in aid is going there anyway.

Let’s not forget about the Haitian dictator that the Clintoons welcomed to these shores and then helped reinstate!

There is no better evidence of just how radical this president is than his campaign to install a Chavista dictatorship in Honduras, one of the few remaining reliable allies we have in Latin America.

Today from NAFBPO from Honduran news:
– Hermosillo, Sonora – 09/02/09

Micheletti will participate in an international march against Hugo Chavez

The de facto president of Honduras, Roberto Micheletti, announced that he will join an international protest march against the president of Venezuela, accompanied by Honduran civic organizations. He said that he will participate and asked the Honduran populace to participate because “we don’t want dictators of any kind.”

Micheletti, who was elected by the Parliament after Manuel Zelaya was deposed, gave no details about his participation. The anti-Chavez march was convened by a Colombian civic platform via Facebook, and has received positive responses on that social network from users in Colombia, Venezuela, United States, Israel, Canada, Peru, Ecuador, Spain and France. Micheletti”s government broke diplomatic relations with Venezuela last July because of “threats” of military action by Chavez, who is an ally of Zelaya, who was overthrown by the Armed Forces on June 28. The organizations Democratic Civic Union (UCD) and Honduras es Nuestra (Honduras is Ours) have organized marches and had demonstrations and rallys in rejection of Zelaya and Chavez.

Jefferson said that Liberty and freedom come from God almighty, not from the potentate...They threw the usurper out of Honduras, which is what all freedom loving people must do...Who are these dictators who are so self-important that they should make the crazy new rules?

This is clearly another example of Obama favoring a marxist leaning system over a democartic leaning system. He needs to go ahead and snuggle up with Chavez and Castro and Ortega. It would be the Obamicommiepalooza.

English translation of Honduran Constitution of 1982 as amended through 2005.

The quality of the Google-bot translation is uneven and it contains some errors. But all in all, it's a usable translation.

For reference, here are the specific articles which are at issue in the dispute and the areas that each covers: I'm glad that at least one other person here is interested in what the Constitution actually says, rather than taking some political commentator's word for it.

A contingent of GOP House members and senators should schedule a little junket to Honduras to meet personally with Micheletti for photo-ops, just like what Queen Stretch did with the creep in Syria during the Bush Admin. It would be a perfect opportunity to call Zero and his Politburo out as comsymps, and if they squawk about the GOPers not being representative of US policy, hypocrites extraordinaire.

How can our State Department define what happened in Honduras as a “coup”? Their Supreme Court ordered the sitting president to be arrested in accordance with the Honduran Constitution — therefore it was a legal process. It may not be the procedure that OUR Constition would prescribe (would that it were). Plus there was no actual violence. Zelaya was simply put on a plane out of the country. If it were a real coup, they’d have probably shot him or thrown him in a deep, dark hole somewhere.

And what if Venezuela evicts the Marxist dictator Chavez?

Will that nation also be added to the USSA Disapproval List?

Apparently yes. The message for us Hondurans is “Don’t mess with Obama’s communist buddies”
