WASHINGTON -- The Supreme Court next week will hear arguments on whether corporations and unions have a right to spend their money on campaign advertisements, in a case that tests not only a central pillar of federal campaign-finance law but the court's own respect for precedent.

Yes, will the SCOTUS respect the overriding precedent of the First Amendment—and the almost 200-year weight of historical SCOTUS precedents against any prior restraint of political speech? Or will they myopically continue their recent history of trashing such inconvenient precedents?

"Maybe they should remember Hillary so far as gotten away with the largest campaign fraud ever."

I am sick and tired of reading stories of political corruption. Everyone knows (a) what they did (b) Who did it (c) How they did it (d)When they did it (e)Who they did it to. but nothing happens - Rangel carries on, Hilary carries on, Obama carries on, and Republicans too. If they do get convicted it seems they only get a little slap on the hand.

Fine them, imprison them and disbar them from public office. I thought this was a Nation of Laws.

..or will they, through tortured “logic” and precedent from Foreign Courts, split their decision in such a way that it is OK for Unions but not for Corporations?
