It is a clear homage to perhaps the most iconic White House photograph. Almost 46 years after the world first saw two-year-old John F. Kennedy Jr playing under the Oval Office desk as his father worked, the White House has released a picture of Sasha Obama, 8, hiding behind a sofa as President Obama reads briefing papers at the same desk. According to the White House, Sasha is sneaking up on her father as he nears the end of a working day behind the Resolute desk, which was a gift from Queen Victoria to President Rutherford B. Hayes in 1879. The original photograph, taken in October 1963, a month before President Kennedy was assassinated, shows John Jr peering out from under the desk as his father, like Mr Obama, reviews briefing papers. It was a photograph that helped to promote the image of Kennedys Camelot the youthful President running the country with a young family playing at his side in the White House.

At least Kennedy’s desk is full of stuff, it actually looks like he is working.
There is nothing on barry’s desk, is he working?
As a side note who dresses these kids? What is she wearing, did she just get back from dance class?

What a strange picture of Hussain’s kid.
Shoddily dressed in trash lycra clothing and a leg and bottom shot.
Nothing cute about the backend of an eight year old.
The Kennedy picture is a classic because it shows a little child in a cute pose.
They dont get it, do they.

John John’s photo was staged when Jackie wasn’t there.
The press secretary wanted the press to have access to the kids. Jackie didn’t. this was done when she was gone.
That photo of Obama’s kid doesn’t even come close to capturing the same feeling as JFK,Jr.

I’m so tired of this administration and thier hokey posed crap. At least Kennedy had the decency to keep his jacket on. I can’t believe there isn’t a halo in this picture too.

I’ve gotta agree. The 8yo girl in more of a pose you’d have expected from Marilyn than from John-John while JFK was in office. Not flattering and just not right.

Kennedy wasnt all that great either.
I was brought up being told he would have outlived his popularity. But wahtever, he did say this: "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country. As far as I'm concerned, it was his greatest contribution to the American dialogue, and Republicans should claim this mantra for their own. Talk about a slap in the Dems collective faces. They want the Republican Lincoln? Hey, TAKE HIM. He's free. But that Kennedy phrase will save this country if Republicans will just claim it and cram it down liberal throats at every turn. They cannot defend against it, and it goes against everything our Dear Leader stands for.

“The press secretary wanted the press to have access to the kids. Jackie didnt. this was done when she was gone.”
Once again Team Obama does a clumsy job with a copycat photo-op situation. It’s like Obama’s “Kennedy-esq Berlin speech. When Kennedy did it in a time of cold-war tension when he had to assure the Berliners that the U.S. would not abandon them. There was no such context for Obama’s appearance there.

But hey, can't block the visage can we? Other folks are doing the work... he just assigns it.

This photo op just shows how little work he does as President. Using his kids as a photo op is wrong especially when they want everyone to leave the family alone but then go pull a stunt like this.
If I don’t see another picture of ZERO this year, it is going to be way too soon.
