Target of Haditha Claims Facing New Accusations ( Here we go again... )

Nearly four years after the so-called "Haditha Massacre," which was cited by U.S. Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., when he publicly accused U.S. Marines of being cold-blooded killers, and after being cleared by multiple levels of military courts, a Marine officer is facing a new round of allegations stemming from the firefight in Iraq.

According to some members of his legal team, the attorneys at the Thomas More Law Center, the original investigation that failed to produce evidence for a conviction took more than 65 investigators and cost millions of dollars.

After an lengthy process in which prosecutors lost at every stage, the government has announce it no longer will pursue a criminal case against Lt. Col. Jeffrey Chessani. However, his fight still goes on, because a new general in charge of the case, Marine Lt. Gen. George Flynn, has called for an administration procedure called a "Board of Inquiry," the law center announced.

"The government's persecution of this loyal Marine officer continues because he refused to throw his men under the bus to appease some anti-war politicians and press, and the Iraqi government," said Richard Thompson, president of the center.

If there’s a military coup in this country, I hope the Marines go “hard corps” on dems.

Hey it’s an Islamic tactic. Continue making lawsuits til they are ‘broke’....They used it on Palin too...See the link between Alinsky and Islam, yet?

>If there’s a military coup in this country, I hope the Marines go “hard corps” on dems.

LOL - That would be nice.

Yet, people should be asking several Questions about all this, namely John Murtha:
- Why hasn’t he been tried for treason? If he is guilty of giving aid and comfort to the enemy, and I believe that a legislator using national television to defame our fighting-men is.
- Why did the courts rule that a law protecting federal employees from lawsuits while in execution of their office applied to him and his statements? {Is it part of a legislator’s duty to declare the innocence/guilt of military-personnel? Is he even a federal employee... the last I checked we can’t fire him, which is the hallmark of an employee. (Not electing him is not firing him, recalling him is not firing him... therefore I claim that he is not an employee.)}

Probably, he has a Fire Watch ribbon from each of these high powered posts. Does he need to persecute a real Marine for another star? Semper Fi.

Thanks for the ping.

While they lost out on the CM after finally realizing even the JAG Corps wasn’t going along with their persecution of LtCol Chessani it seems the brass still want a piece of him, pathetic.

As Smooth said on another thread, he should be promoted to full colonel for his outstanding performance for retirement instead of being screwed with like this.

Ya know, I haven't been following Haditha for a long time but “if” it were me, I'd retire and tell the Corps to “F” themselves...and “if” I could sue the gov’t I would. These Marines have gone through enough Bravo Sierra & hell about charges that they have already been exonerated of...THERE WERE NO WAR CRIMES AT HADITHA! PERIOD

ENOUGH ALREADY!

Semper Fi,
Kelly

I couldn’t agree more and Chessani has announced he’ll retire as soon as they’ll let him.

SSgt Wuterich is the only case left, we’re hoping they’ll dismiss his charges also due to the UCI as soon as his lawyers file it, they’ve been waiting for the outcome on Chessani.

I believe Sharratt and Wuterich still have civil suits pending against Murtha but I doubt any could sue the gov’t, however it’d be good if they could.

Absolutely right there were no war crimes at Haditha, those Marines did there job as they were trained to do. Period!

WTF????

Every f'ing JAG off piece of sh#t , every staff member and every f'ing douche bag DOJ lawyer involved in this needs to have his name published.

These douche bags are the reason that we are criminalizing the battle field and killing aggressive initiative in combat. I can't even believe that this is happening because one or two flag officers want to get more stars.

Holy cr#p. What is happening to the Marine Corps? I guess if it produced Murtha then all bets are off.

Jeez...

No GWB couldn't have "ended" this. He was getting raked over the coals and the MSM would never have let up as well as the traitors in the democrat party.

All these lawyers are doing is putting in their chits to get into the game in DC later on in their careers either with DOJ or democrat bureaucrat establishment in order to suck off the federal trough.

Does he need to persecute a real Marine for another star?

One general already threw Chessani and the rest of these heroic combat Marines under the bus so he wouldn't risk his chances at that 4th star.

To all: The Marine who was killed in the ambush at Haditha was named Lance Corporal Miguel Terrazas.
