US President Barack Obama praised Islam as an integral part of America, as he feted prominent US Muslims at an Iftar dinner marking the holy fasting month of Ramadan.
"For well over a billion Muslims, Ramadan is a time of intense devotion and reflection," Obama said, in remarks welcoming his guests in the State Dining Room of the White House.
"Tonight's Iftar is a ritual that is being carried out this Ramadan at kitchen tables and mosques in all 50 states," Obama said.
"Islam as we know is part of America. Like the broader American citizenry, the American Muslim community is one of extraordinary dynamism and diversity.
"On this occasion, we celebrate the holy month of Ramadan and we also celebrate how much Muslims have enriched America and its culture in ways both large and small," the president said.

I don’t remember the details of his big Easter speech. Oh well, I’ll be sure to tune in to his big Christmas speech.
If Obama observes the fast he will blow away. I noticed that last couple of times he commanded my tv and before I changed the channel that he is getting pretty skinny.

I agree with Ann. Kill their leaders and force the survivors to convert to Christianity. Bring back the crusade. Just as Alfonso defeated the Moors and forced conversions of the remainder, America must do the same to survive. Otherwise we end up just like Eurabia.

You don’t actually believe Obama is a Muslim? He obviously isn’t. He’s a leftist. They like Muslim’s for “multicultural” reasons, but they don’t agree with them a lot. You think Obama is pro-life?
Any thoughtful person who knows history and religion would be anti-Islam. Along with Communism, Naziism, and the Black Death, Islam has been responsible for more death and destruction on the face of the planet than just about anything else since the last asteroid impact. Islam was started by predators. It has spread by predation. It has lived off the decaying corpses of the civilizations it has destroyed. It is a vast, ancient sea of corruption, oppression, fanaticism, and ignorance lapping up against the shores of the present, kept alive by the fortuitous accident of living above huge reserves of petroleum.

Maybe I have been out of the loop, but can somebody give me even one example of how Islam is an integral part of the US, and how it has enriched us in any way?

On February 27th, speaking to Kristof of The New York Times, Barack Hussein Obama said the Muslim call to prayer is “one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.”
In an interview with Nicholas Kristof, published in The New York Times, Obama recited the Muslim call to prayer, the Adhan, “with a first-class [Arabic] accent.”
The opening lines of the Adhan (Azaan) is the Shahada:
“Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme!

I witness that there is no god but Allah
I witness that there is no god but Allah
I witness that Muhammad is his prophet? “
According to Islamic scholars, reciting the Shahada, the Muslim declaration of faith, makes one a Muslim. This simple yet profound statement expresses a Muslim’s complete acceptance of, and total commitment to, the message of Islam. Obama chanted it with pride and finesse.

Take note that while non-muslim communities are encouraged to become more "diverse" through the inclusion of muslims, a community which definitively excludes non-muslims (the "muslim community" itself) is somehow diverse. His usage serves to confirm my longstanding suspicion that the word "diversity" has only been a leftist code word used all this while to generally mean "less traditional western" and, more specifically, "less white Christian".
I live in a state not close to New York. I still light 2 candles for the victims and their families every 9-11. I will til the day I die. I didn’t lose a specific person in the 9-11 Muslim Terror attacks. I lost a lot of people in the 9-11 Muslim Terror Attacks. Personally I didn’t know any of them. “Today's Easter Celebration is being carried out this Resurrection Day at kitchen tables and churches in all 50 states,” Obama said.
“Christianity as we know is part of America. Like the broader American citizenry, the American Christian community is one of extraordinary dynamism and diversity.
“On this occasion, we celebrate the holy day of Easter and we also celebrate how much Christians have enriched America and its culture in ways both large and small,” the president said.
The president also recognized the Christian lawmakers in the US Congress.
In a message marking Maundy Thursday last week, Obama pledged “concrete actions” to renew ties with Christian countries, less than three months after his historic address to the Christian world in Rome.
“I want to reiterate my commitment to a new beginning between America and Christians around the world,” Obama said in a video address posted as the world's estimated 1.5 billion Christians prepared for a day of celebration and reflection.
