If a relative had been given power of attorney by them and had done this, they would of thrown them in jail.

The state has the responsibility to make sure the Kidds are safe. But is a nursing home the best answer? There are other possible options such as assisted living or home health care that may be less expensive and confining. But the Kidds say those options were never discussed with them.

Why does the state have the responsibility to make sure the Kidds are safe? The Supreme Court has ruled that the government doesn't have the responsibility to keep you safe -- in other words, you can't sue if the police don't protect you from harm.

So how did the state get the power to be responsible for keeping old people safe?

There's nothing wrong with this couple that abit of outside help going into their home wouldn't have fixed. The husband was right when he said "I could have stayed at the Hilton for what this cost"...

Meals on Wheels, a home health care worker dropping by to check up on them...that's all they needed.

They're trying to paint these two with "dementia"? It wouldn't hold up in a court of law..

Someone is playing fast and loose with their money. What advocate is intervening for them?

This can happen to any of us. We need to stay on top of this story.
