In this video at Representative Jim Morans (D-VA) town hall meeting on ObamaCare held at South Lakes High School in Reston, VA, many people were left outside when the school filled to capacity.
School security officer Wesley Cheeks, Jr. did not like a protesters anti-ObamaCare poster which used one of the viral "Joker" graphics.
Officer Cheeks told some town hall protesters to put away their signs or hell "charge them with trespassing or whatever he wants."
Then, when a protester said to Officer Cheeks, "This used to be America!" his response was: It aint no more, OK?
Pro-Obama Cop to Protester: "This Aint America No More"
I e-mailed the Police Department yesterday about the video.
Here is the response I got:
Wesley Cheeks is NOT a Fairfax County police officer, he is a security
officer employed by the Fairfax County Public Schools. You may go to
http://www.fcps.edu to contact the Schools Department of Communication
and Community Outreach concerning this matter. They may also be reached
by phone at 571-423-1200.
Please accept my apologies for the impersonal reply; however I am trying
to give the several hundred respondents the courtesy of a timely answer.

Cops like Officer Cheeks allow their personal feelings to enter into their work. This is harassment and typical of the attitude the left would have towards a ‘teabagger.’
‘America’ to people like Officer Cheeks means something different than what it means to us. To them, they see it a place of Greed and Racism, hence they despise any notions that go along with that when it doesn’t suit them. They don’t hesitate to claim their own constitutional rights are being violated when dissent is given, but are hypocrites because it is they who work to silence the dissent.
Their opinion is the only thing that matters and, in their eyes, the only thing that should be spoken.
It is dangerous that there are MILLIONS of Americans that think this way. This is what we are up against. These people are angry, hateful, vindictive and right now, feel emboldened. They are destroying our nation from within.
what I want to know is who was the fat little bald jerk with glassses who kept arguing in support of the School Security Guard Cheeks?
VietVet
Thanks for link.

Yes, and I believe him that it was not one of his officers, but a renta-cop for the school.
I thanked him for his response.

I think someone is pissed...a lot of contact information here....
The ground where I stand is still Texas. And the goobers who think they are going to subject it, are in for an education.
There are more of my neighbors who feel equally as strong about this, and the “more” are Many.
It appears that the “line in the sand” is being drawn.
So may it be.
Yes, and if I were in his shoes I would have done exactly what he did.
Some “Stuck on Stupid” renta-cop caused him a lot of grief. I think he responded correctly and politely. My e-mail was in a reasonable tone, and his response was as polite.

Yep. You got a good one there...
Yup - he’s not happy about the campus cop, and having his inbox stuffed full!
A really great response on his part, I’d say.

Yes, It is coming Sir.
I am willing to defend “Officer Cheeks” to some degree. He thought that the picture was offensive and inflammatory, and was disallowing it on those grounds. He was trying to keep things in bounds.
His remark that “It ain’t no more, OK?” was a result of having been rhetorically outmanouvered by the protester. It was a very loaded remark, tantamount to Obama’s “We won, OK?”, and I think what he meant was that this is no longer YOUR America. We won and we are calling the shots now. Of course, this is damning enough.
Still, I don’t think his disallowal of the sign is in itself outrageous. It’s certainly not unprecedented. I recall that a group of alderman marched into a museum and removed a work of art that happened to depict then-mayor Harold Washington wearing women’s underwear. This made a minor news splash, but no one really made an issue of it.
The trouble I see is that people like Cheeks are reaching some type of ‘critical mass’ at least in their own eyes. When leftist demogogues from our own Congress go on TV and call us Nazis because we happen to be ‘teagbagging’, something has changed in the land of the free and it ain’t good.
Their arrogance will eventually get the best of them. As one poster said in another thread, there are still too many Americans in America to allow it not to be America anymore.
Take care.
Glad you like it. I borrowed it from another Freeper, can’t remember who that was, though. I would certainly like to know if anyone can remember.

Ive shown you what happens when liberals protest Republicans. Despite their use of obscene language in public, their signs werent confiscated or destroyed. Although we may find that speech objectionable, we recognize their right to verbalize and express that speech.
The very same leftists who wont debate, who shout down, while professing to embrace free speech, have yet again shown the world just who has spat on the First Amendment on their road to fascism.
This video was taken on Tuesday, August 25th, 2009 at Rep. Jim Morans (D-VA) Town Hall meeting on Obama Deathcare (Howie Dean was there too) held at South Lakes High School in Reston, VA.
Many people were left outside when the school filled to capacity. School security officer Wesley Cheeks, Jr. did not like my anti-Obamacare poster which used one of the gone-viral Joker graphics.
When I said to Officer Cheeks, This used to be America! his response was: It aint no more, OK?
No, its not.
Well ... it is! The whole thing is posted on Youtube! Everybody is discussing it openly! I'm not saying everything is hunky dory and no different than ever. I am saying this is still America.
Will he be in trouble for impersonating an officer? (Re:oath he swore to uphold et al)
(/sarc)
Yes; it is still America. You’re right; we couldn’t be discussing this openly otherwise.
However, there are many efforts underway to “change” America into to a state of tyranny which few of us would recognize. With upcoming Internet legislation and Mark Lloyd’s plans for talk radio ... our time is limited ... unless we continue without pause to boldly make our non-representing representatives start listening to the overwhelming will of the people.
This is a really good article. Maybe that cop should read it. Doubt if he could understand.

I have to object. No way was this guy an "Obama Goon", or a goon of any sort. He was performing his duty as he understood it, and I don't think he was very far out of line, if at all, in telling the guy to put the sign down.
"Try to keep things straight." - E. B. White
They should go back with the same signs and call the police if that happens again. Repeat as necessary.
Where are you getting your information that says this rent a cop or anyone for that matter has the right to prohibit a citizen from displaying a sign on public property?
And just WHAT does your claim the rent a cop was not “very far out of line” mean? You either are or are not out of line.
Thanks for the post - good job!
I agree, but we are not organized. We'll be easy to pick off one at a time unless we get organized like they are... e.g. ACORN, Organizing for America, etc.
He was clearly and indefensibly wrong.
Wesley Cheeks, Jr. is a racist because he believes a black person is above criticism because he is black.
Since it’s public property, and a public occasion, I would naturally expect and understand that the civic authorities and their agents have the right to set and enforce standards of behavior in that time and place.
Behavior was never the issue, except for Cheeks’ illegal threat of falsified trespassing charges. Cheeks should have been placed under Citizen’s Arrest, tried, and fried for that violation alone.
Further, Cheeks admitted that the *CONTENT* of the poster, a silly picture, was his reason for picking out that one single poster for government censorship.
Regulating behavior is what good cops do.
Regulating content is what bad cops do.
Public property means PUBLIC and so is “owned” by the people. If there is on the books a statute prohibiting hand held signs in the area which I think would be unconstitutional anyway, that is one thing but I rather doubt that was the case since there were other signs this moron cop wannabe ignored.
What should happen (but won’t) is the person who was forced to take down his sign should file a suit against the cop wannabe if only to force him to court and to incur any expense associated with going to court. His employer should also be bombarded with calls demanding the fool get bounced (I called, had to leave a message)
“Try to keep things straight.”
Well get this straight!
Americans are not going to stand for suppresion of our 1st ammendment right to free speach and expression. We should bring a thousand signs just like the on that offended the Barry mo! Sooner or later actions like this from the Obot will start something real ugly!
Rent-a-cops aren’t allowed to threaten arrest.
“Cheeks should have been placed under Citizens Arrest”
Call Citizen Gomer Pyle to arrest him
We need a “little less talk, and a lot more action”. This has all gone far enough.
Then you "naturally expect and understand" things exactly backwards. It's precisely BECAUSE this was a public political event that Cheeks was dead wrong. In the U.S., it's private property and private events in which the hosts may control political expression based on their own preference.
Secondly, it was not "behavior" that the rent-a-cop took issue with. Cheeks was selectively "enforcing" an arbitrary standard of his own making on the spot. His own words reveal he was applying his own standards, his own rules, and his own illegal tactics.
And you defend this guy? The only possible criterion on which to cut the guy any slack whatsoever would be to attribute his behavior to ignorance of the Constitution and the law rather than disdain for it. So which one of those excuses applies to you?
My father has told me about a humorous thing that happened while he was at Texas A&M just prior to going in the Army and to Europe in WWII. It was about how contemptuous the students were of the “campus cops”.
Now you must understand that this was a military school and discipline was very strong. But the students held the campus cops in contempt.
The students would lean out the window of one of the dormitories and yell across the courtyard to another “Does your old man have a jog?” and the answer would come back “He?? NO, he is a Campus Cop”. I guess some things simply do not change.
Sorry dr lew, it wasn't his job to decide what signs can say. In a peaceful demonstration, it is not up to the goon squad to decide what can be on signs. He should be fired immediately.
