Death, Republican Style
It's the GOP that's out to get Granny.

Who reads NEWSWEEK? We’re they the ones that recently announced the “Recession is Over?”
Nana dont like Barry Dunham-Soetoro..
Kill Nana Dead..
How they twist and turn in the winds of deceit. Unbelievable.
Certainly not a news source, not by a long shot. But this one is so far beyond the pale.
Nah. Nobody reads Newsweak. You’d just be giving them readership.
News-reek.
New-shriek.
Weisberg is either a lyin’, hardcore commie or one of the biggest dumbasses to ever come down the pike. Whichever it is, the boy is clueless and has lost all touch with reality.
Sorry, you can not have a conversation with someone who is brain dead - what is the point in responding?
These people are such liar in the lib media. Unreal.
The truth is Obama wants to cut things for seniors and give it to illegals, unions,, his cronies and third world countries.
Yeah. And Adolph Hitler was a loyal defender of European Jews.
The answer is to start arming the elderly. Perhaps our government overlords can set up some sort of “Glocks for Clunkers” program. They’re much less dangerous with an Uzi than a Chevy I believe.
They’re not worth the hit. Going there only supports them by providing proof to their advertisers that someone actually still reads that rag. Anyway, they’re preaching to the choir. Only liberals bother with them anymore.
Wheneve you see the presstitutes wail, we have a good message that they are scared of
Didn’t Zeke Emanuel, brother of Dead Fish Rahm, come up with the formula that will do just that? The more “quality years” saved, the faster the person will progress through the queue.
I refuse to register with Newspeak, but if I did, this would be my comment (feel free to copy): This piece would be hillarious if it wasn’t so bad. So the sunsetting of the estate tax break was a Republican idea? Wow, talk about newspeak from Newspeak. It was the Democrats who forced that provision into the bill.
And anyhow that wouldn’t be gunning for “grandma” but for the “grandsons and granddaughters.”
Newsweek = Newspeak.
It doesent need to end then, you POS leftist lying pile of excrement. Congress could extend it, you act like its an act of Mao.
This is weak, weak, weak, even for NewsWeak.
Sheesh....
Now that is a laugh
Dems want to kill gramma, grampa and baby too
Sour grapes from one of Zeke Emmanuel’s Chicago buttboys. Weiseberg knows Obama’s DeathCare scheme is over and the democrat deathcult is spitting mad.
You got to wonder how much Newsweek gets paid for these lies.
First, Grassley only proposed the reduction in the estate with a deadline because that’s the only way you’ll ever get Democrats to agree on tax reductions. Take the Dubya tax cuts. It’s a lot easier to just let those tax cuts expires at the end of their term then to propose tax increases. There is no need to go voting to raise taxes; doing nothing will raise taxes.
And Newsweek knows this.
And how about that bit about Dubya trying to privatize social security, a program dimwit Newsweek says has saved countless lives since its inception.
Okay, folks, I know Newsweek thinks we are all stupid but at times they confuse us with their liberal inside-the-beltway readers. For we know that Soc. Sec. has not saved lives...that better medical care has saved lives. Soc. Sec. might make life easier in terms of finance but saving lives? Their argument is that had Dubya succeeded in further privatizing SS that Grandma would have died.
Finally, heh, how about that bit about it being a damn good thing Dubya couldn’t privatize SS cause elderly suicides would have greatly increased with the fall of the stock market.
Sheesh. How on earth does Newsweek know this? I’ll go out on a limb and say with the initial attempt at privatizing retirement, the 401K or IRA, have done a damn good job of making Americans even more prosperous and even with the recent downturn of the stock market well I didn’t hear endless news stories about folks killing themselves. That’s because the money made from rising stock markets during affluent times offset handily the recent downturn.
I can just hear Rahm and The Won in the Oval office cooking up this stupid story. Of course they got to call up Newsweek, which no one reads, no one, and it’s only value is as a talking point.
They think we all were born yesterday.

They are not even a magazine anymore. They are merely a propaganda outlet for the 0bamination in the White House.
The Newspeak “argument” apparently is that little Judy and little Johnny will pull the plug on Grandma - or maybe she’ll pull it on herself - to dodge the estate tax. And it’s all the Republicans’ (read GW’s?) fault.
Our attack must have really hit them where it hurts.
To quote one of their idols: “Better put some ice on that.”
How can you tell when a liberal is lying?
And if the RATS were gunning for granny, Newsweak would be the first to tell us - no?
They are cram full of slow Javascript.
I thought this was satire at first.
The estate tax reset will result in the elderly being DNRed by their kids? Mr. Weisberg would be right at home in my family of slobberingly leftist, brain-dead Reform Jews who are educated far, far beyond their ability to understand. I left a message but I’m sure he’s glued to the TV, tissue in hand, to watch Chappaquiddik Ted’s funeral. (Mr. Weisberg, you don’t EVER want to equate Abortion-on-Demand Ted’s career to one of “saving lives.”)
This is humorous. Give it all the attention it deserves — laugh at it. MANY Seniors recognize this for what it is today. those who don’t, NEVER will.

Jacob Weisberg
He served as the editor of Slate magazine for six years, until stepping down in June 2008. He is the son of Lois Weisberg, a Chicago social activist
The creator and author of the Bushisms series, Weisberg published The Bush Tragedy
Weisberg, was noted to have also made critical comments regarding Mormons, and in particular presidential candidate Mitt Romney. Weisberg authored an opinion piece on Slate in which he argues it is not bigoted to refuse to vote for a Mormon, especially one who believes in the "founding whoppers of Mormonism." He also stated that he would never vote for a Scientologist or a young earth creationist.
In August 2008, Weisberg stated on Slate that the only reason Barack Obama would ever lose to John McCain is racism by white Americans against Obama. He stated that "If Obama loses, our children will grow up thinking of equal opportunity as a myth."
Who reads NEWSWEEK?
All six pages of it. NO ONE that I know.
"What I've tried to do," he explained at the outset of a recent online chat at washingtonpost.com, "is provide an early historical perspective on George W. Bush. Instead of arguing, as so many have, that he is a bad president, I largely assume that he has failed as president, and ask the more interesting question of why."
Folks, if you don’t want to click on the link, and if you’re using Firefox, download Cool Previews. A blue icon will show up on the right of the link, use your mouse to hover over it, and a separate small window will pop-up and you can read the article without giving them the hit.
The estate tax is going back up because the Democrats could reauthorize the lower rate this year any time they wished, and they simply don’t want to. It takes a healthy bit of chutzpah (and dishonesty) to blame the GOP for that.
Yes, that should have been a campaign issue last year and should be as well come 2010.
Republicans, by and large, stood for the permanent elimination of the estate tax, and that was what the Bush administration requested from Congress, IIRC. Instead, a compromise with the left forced the elimination of the estate tax to be sunsetted.
I was well aware that a 'Rat takeover of Congress could have very negative financial consequences for those with parents or grandparents who pass on. I'm surprised that the 'Rats haven't yet tried to reinstitute the estate tax earlier. You can bet that if the retain control next year, they will not only reinstitute the old estate tax, but will decrease the deductions and/or raise the rates on it, so that more people will be paying more to Big Brother when their loved ones pass on.
Socialists detest the idea of inherited wealth. That's why they want to punish the beneficiaries, not because they want to incentivize keeping people alive. Their ideas on taxes always put government first; incentives for decent, moral, and productive behavior play little or no role in their thought processes.
Or both.
Incidentally, Weisberg is a clever Lib/Commie. He is using a technique of propaganda called Turnspeak. The idea of turnspeak is to accuse the other side (that's us) of doing the odious things their side is doing; e.g., killing grandma.
This propaganda technique was first used by Josef Goebbels during the time leading up to Munich and has been elevated to an art form by the Arabs in their incessant war against the Jewish State.
If you pay attention to Lib propaganda, they use this technique a lot. It is clever psychologically because the audacity and immorality of the pronouncements paralyze the listener as most cannot believe anyone could be so evil as to blame their side for the exact sins of the side doing the accusing.
They said the same thing during the battle over Hillarycare. We know how far it got them then. The elderly are already starting to question Obamacare, and they’re not liking the answers they’re getting.
That's like saying that the crowing rooster caused the sun to come up.
Apparently Weisberg doesn't acknowledge the fortuitous coincidence that in the 70+ years since Social Security has been around, the combined medical advances achieved by mankind are greater than in all of previous history! (Heck, when Social Security came in, the first antibiotics were just being made available, and penicillin was only in its research phase.) You have to be complete airhead to imply that Social Security has been a major factor in increasing life expectancy and decreasing death rates.
I thought it was satire all the way through. I kept looking for the satire label some place. Nobody with a rational mind could think up something that illogical. Therefore, he’s an idiot.
Honestly, I hadn't read your post at the time I posted, but I suppose great minds think (at least somewhat) alike.
BTW, the Bush proposed Social Security "privatization" reform was for younger workers only, optional, and limited to a very small percentage of the individual's FICA tax "contribution."
