Senator Kennedy was also a strong, influential advocate for the environment, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and energy industry reform.

I wonder what the 'Carbon Footprint' of this epic funeral is. We have meandering drives of funeral corteges past multiple sites, lengthy travel for numerous people and support staff and a pageant little, if any, short of the death of a President. Yet we have this article honoring Senator Kennedy as a champion of the environment and a supporter of energy usage reduction in the name and cause of Global Climate Change.

Ordinarily, this would be of little concern as people have the right to have celebrations as they see fit and nobody (other than assigned staff and military) is being forced to attend these proceedings. But in light of some previous news and comments, I wonder if a charge of GRAND HYPOCRISY can be leveled at the planners and attendees of this event.

More than one person has pointed out the in recent news about the difference in coverage of fiscal and sexual malfeasance between Democrats and Republicans. The 'unbiased' media response, when cornered, has frequently been that Republicans have run on platforms of fiscal and sexual responsibility and thus are more newsworthy as hypocrites when they transgress.

Now my question here is does this also apply when the tables are turned? Global Warming / Climate Change is most definitely a prime plank in the Democrat Platform and moral strictures. I would be hard put to find a single member of the Democrat Elite, including this 'Guest of Honor' who has not trumpeted widely the need for EVERYONE to reduce their energy usage and 'carbon impact'. Yet this same 'Guest of Honor' is no longer anything but a husk that could be air-shipped to Arlington. These grand processions with idling engines and pauses for various reasons appear, to me, to open the doors to an equally valid accusation of HYPOCRISY based upon their own criteria. Pot, meet kettle!

I remember Teddy had a cow when a ‘Wind’ farm was proposed that would “destroy” his view

No kidding. I've concluded that Ted Kennedy has done nothing good for anyone any time in life. Every story that has come out that has proclaimed how "great" he was can be easily debunked.

His death did not come soon enough.

Exactly. His place in McLean had a huge carbon footprint.

Was Al Gore at the funeral? Were President Bush 41 and Barbara there?

Global warming and the liberals actions are amazing, sadly amazing. They say you have to buy carbon credits to offset your carbon, then, you can produce all the carbon you want. If the carbon output is really so damaging to the environment, shouldn’t they have to cut back and change their behavior, rather than paying a tax and be allowed to keep producing the dreaded carbon?
