KENNEDY MASS MAKES MOCKERY OF CATHOLIC DOCTRINE
The Last Crusade ^ | August 28, 2009 | Dr. Paul L. Williams

Ted Lady Basilsml

Christianity Without Conviction

by

Paul L. Williams, Ph.D.

thelastcrusade.org

On Saturday morning, a funeral Mass for Senator Edward “Teddy” Kennedy will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Basilica on the outskirts of Boston.

A Kennedy family statement says that the Basilica “took on special meaning as a place of hope and optimism” for the Senator.

What kind of hope? What source of optimism?

Before Vatican II, a man with Kennedy’s record of cardinal offenses could never expect his corpse to be blessed in a Roman Catholic Church - - let alone a Basilica.

In its “Declaration on Procured Abortion, published by the Sacred Congregation of the Doctrine of Faith on November 18, 1974, the Roman Catholic Church declares that anyone who advances the cause of abortion merits immediate excommunication and the loss of eternal salvation.

No one advanced the cause of abortion more than Teddy Kennedy.

Senator Kennedy voted against legislation that would define an unborn fetus - - even a fully formed fetus in its ninth month of gestation - - as a child.

He voted in favor of allowing minors to cross state lines to procure an abortion.

He voted against notifying the parents of minors who receive out-of-state abortions.

He supported the allocation of over $100 million in public funds to distribute condoms and birth control pills to unmarried teenagers - - this in flagrant violation of Humanae Vitae, the papal encyclical on artificial contraception.

He voted against legislation that would make the killing or harming of an unborn child a criminal offense.

He voted in favor of partial birth abortions.

The days when a wicked man would be condemned from the pulpet have pretty much passed. And the churches have never been eager to do anything except bless the wealthy and powerful no matter how degraded or wicked they may have been. They elevate the foul of the earth to the plain of the righteous as if they were exemplars and pillars of the church then wonder why the world is such a mess.

Before Roe Kennedy wrote constituents he was opposed ot abortion, and would be against legislation for abortion.

After Roe, well, it was a total opposite reaction.

I'm not real familiar with Catholic doctrine but. IMO as a Christian, TK’s legislative works left him with the blood of 1000s on his hands.

Personally, I wouldn't forgive him. This is something Catholics everywhere need to contemplate.

While you're at it, pray for Obama too.

Bishop Sean will not be in attendance. Watch for Obama to praise Kennedy’s support for “a woman’s right to choose” right there in our Church (speaking for Catholics. If the crowd applauds, bring out the Bell, Book and Candle and Excommunicate the lot of them. There had better NOT be a 4th Degree Honor Guard from the Knights of Columbus.

This is all part of that flexible theology peddle by the Vatican. It really is about political correctness and maneuvering more sheeple into the corral for slaughter. How anyone can view this organization as a legitimate purveyor of truth is downright astonishing.

Not true. Southern Baptist is the second largest church in America and it's members are about 75% to 80% republican voters.

"The President of the country’s largest protestant denomination is denouncing President Clinton and Vice President Gore for not honoring their religious beliefs in office. Mr. Clinton has been criticized before for his actions in the Monica Lewinsky case but rarely in terms as strong as those used at the Southern Baptist Convention meeting."

FNC’s Bret Baier opened his piece by showing Reverend Bailey Smith, in the "keynote sermon," exclaiming from the stage: "We have a Southern Baptist in the White House with the morals of an alley cat."
Baier also played this from Smith: "Everybody said ‘Oh isn’t it great to have a Southern Baptist in the White House.’ I’m ready for a Christian myself."
Viewers also heard the SBC’s President, Reverend James Merritt, tell Baier: "Clinton and Gore are Southern Baptists at least in name only."

Senator Kennedy voted against legislation that would define an unborn fetus – - even a fully formed fetus in its ninth month of gestation – - as a child.

He voted in favor of partial birth abortions.

He voted to repel the ban on abortions at overseas military facilities.

His pro-choice voting record at the time of his demise was 100%. Certainly, no American Catholic was more deserving of ecclesiastical opprobrium and censure.

The church loses all credibility when it selectively applies doctrine.

Casting a blind eye to abortion, gay marriage and other sin (and sinners) makes a mockery of the entire church.

Wow, that's sure fair. Around 1% of Catholic priests nationally have credible accusations of abuse lodged against them, and "seminaries" are "full of child molesting pedophiles"?

Hint: the public schools are far worse. I guess schools of education producing the next generation of teachers are also "full of child molesting pedophiles".

By canon law, a man who divorces his wife can not receive a Catholic funeral and his remains cannot be blessed by the sprinkling of incense.

Incorrect. If one is going to attempt to paraphrase Canon Law, at least read it first. Kennedy could be denied a funeral for a number of reasons but not because of his divorce.

CHAPTER II : THOSE TO WHOM CHURCH FUNERALS ARE TO BE ALLOWED OR DENIED

Can. 1183 §1 As far as funeral rites are concerned, catechumens are to be reckoned among Christ's faithful.

§2 Children whose parents had intended to have them baptised but who died before baptism, may be allowed Church funeral rites by the local Ordinary.

§3 Provided their own minister is not available, baptised persons belonging to a non-catholic Church or ecclesial community may, in accordance with the prudent judgement of the local Ordinary, be allowed Church funeral rites, unless it is established that they did not wish this.

Can. 1184 §1 Church funeral rites are to be denied to the following, unless they gave some signs of repentance before death:

1° notorious apostates, heretics and schismatics;

2° those who for anti-christian motives chose that their bodies be cremated;

3° other manifest sinners to whom a Church funeral could not be granted without public scandal to the faithful.

§2 If any doubt occurs, the local Ordinary is to be consulted and his judgement followed.

Can. 1185 Any form of funeral Mass is also to be denied to a person who has been excluded from a Church funeral.

While I certainly see enough other sewage about the Vatican to commend it to Lucifer, it would be interesting to hear from a card-carrying member about how all of this squares with the “pure” doctrine that the club claims to hold.

Ted Kennedy? Really...

Wow, you're right. I'd better jump right away to join one of those churches where the clergy and the leadership always does the right thing, and certainly never, ever sins.

I think that is why you never see the media have Southern Baptist ministers or church leaders representing Christianity in America on the Sunday talk shows or in round table discussions or in print interviews.

They are the largest Protestant denomination in a Protestant nation but instead the media will have on a Priest and a Rabbi and a Methodist Minister or someone like it.

Then, please...fill us in on how this kind of tripe gets through headquarters? I am just asking how is that the organization claiming to hold “pure” doctrine can allow itself to be prostituted in the attempt to pander to the wealthy eastern Dems in the US?

And, here is a clue: “shooting the messenger” is when you blame the one who brings you bad news as if they are the source of the news. Example, when you criticize a person pointing out just how stupid and ridiculous the Vatican is. That’s “shooting the messenger”.

And, you won’t likely find a yellow page listing for any one of the many churches that actually hold out the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They don’t need phones and they don’t need their own countries. They don’t need popemobiles and they don’t need all of idolotrous trappings of Rome. They meet together to speak the truth of the Scriptures, Jesus Christ alone. Just the way Paul referred to them in Romans 16.
