After vowing not to become involved in recriminations over the Bush anti-terror policies, President Obama has allowed his Attorney General Eric Holder to appoint a special prosecutor to dig up all the dirt he can find on the CIA and the anti-terror investigators whose aggressive questioning saved us from countless attacks.
Why the switch? Because Obama needs to do something to appease the left that elected him. After refusing to pull out of Iraq and deciding to follow the Bush timetable for withdrawing and staying in Afghanistan and likely having to beef up our presence there, liberals might be wondering why they elected Obama. After all, his opposition to the war in Iraq and his criticism of the Bush anti-terror policies were the hallmarks of his campaign in 2008.
And, on the domestic front, Obama likely realizes that he may have to pull in his horns on health care and accept some sort of compromise which may not endear him to his constituency.
So he has decided to throw a few CIA interrogators to the wolves.
The report that Holder released to accompany his decision to name a special prosecutor itself showed the trivial nature of the charges against these patriotic anti-terror investigators.
...
But Obama needs political cover so he is creating a three ring circus for the media by naming a special prosecutor to conduct a likely leaky investigation designed to throw dirt at the CIA. The exposures he is likely to make will dominate the headlines even as Obama disingenuously retreats from his campaign commitments on Iraq and on foreign policy in general. And, the investigation may even make enough noise to permit a retreat on health care. We hope so.

keep it up, O. most Americans will abandon your ship. bring on 2010.
Holder’s justice: Black Panthers can intimidate you at a polling booth but you must not intimidate terrorists. Got it.
If this goes too far, someone in the CIA will spill the beans and tell the REAL story of Barry Soetoro!
Why the switch? Because Obama needs to do something to appease the left that elected him.
I can tell you exactly why "the switch." It is because obama is a lying SOB. No-one -- left, right, center -- should be suckered into believing anything he says, any promise he makes, any stated "reason" for his actions/decisions.
By his own words and actions we have now seen that obama is looking out for obama and his self-assumed "greatness." That is job #1 for obama, and that is his only job. He is doing/saying anything to further his agenda and his ideals.
Sadly for America, the obama agenda includes a lot of things that most Americans do not want, do not need, and cannot (as a Country) afford. By the time we finally manage to rid ourselves of obama, America is going to look very different from the America of 2008. A majority of American's will not like what they see.
Staight out of Stalin’s playbook. It’s called a show trial.
Yeah I am thinking the same thing. The CIA’s profession is one of digging up dirt and other dirty jobs. And now the punk wants to pick a fight with an organization that took on the KGB? ozero is either really confident that he is going to win this fight or he is really stupid.
I believe that the Kenyan is the farthest of the left.
He is not pandering to his left constituency, he has only appeared to be moderate because he knows if he reveals his true nature, he would lose crucial support.
The CIA is infiltrated with very left wing people all through its ranks.
Are the Commies are using these guys as a model|

The Cambridge Five, also known as the Cambridge Four, was a ring of spies in the UK who passed information to the Soviet Union during World War II and into the early 1950s. It has been suggested they may also have passed Soviet disinformation to the Nazis. The ring included Kim Philby (cryptonym: Stanley), Donald Duart Maclean (cryptonym: Homer), Guy Burgess (cryptonym: Hicks), Anthony Blunt (cryptonym: Johnson), and John Cairncross (cryptonym: Liszt) - identified as the ‘fifth man’ in the Cambridge spy ring by Oleg Gordievsky. Several other persons have been accused of being members over the years.
Their name refers to the fact that all members became committed Communists while attending Cambridge University in the 1930s. There is some conjecture as to the precise dates they were recruited to Soviet intelligence; Anthony Blunt claimed that it did not happen until after they had graduated. Both Burgess and Blunt were Apostles - a secret, elite debating society based around Trinity and King’s Colleges. It is not believed they were recruited by Blunt, though he was an active recruiter and Apostle as well as being Fellow at Trinity where the others were undergraduates. John Cairncross, another Apostle, suspected by many of being the so-called ‘Fifth Man’, was not formally identified as such until 1990. Other Apostles accused of spying for the Soviets included Michael Whitney Straight, Nathaniel Rothschild, research fellow Lewis Daly, and Guy Liddell.
Obama has sure pissed all over Leon Panetta.

Who is pictured?
Looks like the first muslim to me.... ;0)
True, but they are also all government employees. If their agency or budget is threatened, they go into cornered rat mode to save their bacon. The CIA may be full of lefties, but I don’t think they are full of marxists. ozero is trying to defang the agency. Not a good move.
Has anyone else noticed that Obama ALWAYS has a very slight upper lip arched line of stubble while the rest of his face is clean shaven?
Yep. Saw that, too.
I agree that he is the furthest Left. But he also craves adulation. He knows that he will not get the adulation with his far Left turn so he will blame others for taking the country that way. He thinks we are stupid. He doesn’t realize that we know that all the political posturing and Leftist policies coming from his Admin can be vetoed by him. He thinks we are buying the ‘someone else is doing this’ excuse for the CIA investigation, the Health Care debacle, the Cap and Trade, etc.
