How very peaceful.
A small nit to pick, though: I grow weary of reports and punditry that focus on a business’ sales as any sort of indicator of ...well, anything. Nowhere does Gellar reveal how much of that $270k in sales was retained as profit by the father. He could have been losing his arse. Wouldn’t have made my heart bleed in his case if so...
True, the financial report is meaningless in itself. He could have been exaggerating for credit purposes, or making no profit, or running a loss. We don’t know.
I do know that not every gemologist or gem importer from Sri Lanka is affluent.
And having lived next door to an “islamic centre” I can affirm what Quix wrote:

Coming soon to a neighborhood near many.”
And my hornet’s nest was not in a major city, but in a very quiet hamlet in rural PA.
