Spare Me The Beatification of Teddy Kennedy
By Adrian Michaels August 26th, 2009
I know its August but the television has been wall-to-wall Teddy Kennedy today. And I live in the UK. I cant imagine how tiring the coverage must be in the States.
The death of a longstanding public servant is certainly a moment worth noting. The senator was also, I grant, part of a very famous family. Some in Britain might miss that the Kennedys are as close to royalty as America gets.
But Teddy Kennedy is not deserving of these tearful invocations to saintliness. He was a great parliamentarian because he was an elected politician for a very long time and helped to cut a lot of deals. His longevity meant that he could point to a number of legislative causes that he had helped to champion.
I might prefer a swifter epitaph, that the senator was a long-serving recipient of nepotism.

I see the Brits are having fits as all of the Kennedys aupported the IRA.

Mary: I have not seen Ted up here in Heaven today. He went south.
CNN is just unwatchable these days. Ever since last fall, it’s been, in essence, the Democratic Party Propaganda Channel 23 hours a day - with a small 1-hour oasis of sanity, Lou Dobbs, every day at 4 pm PST.
But today it’s all-Teddy, all-the-time, and not one single mention of his missteps in this lovefest. Sickening.
I guess you didn’t read the guardian today then. They are praising this POS as much as the liberals in the US are.
when he was diagnosed with the tumor, a Pittsburgh radio host was dismissed for simply asking “where is all the sympathy for Mary Jo?”
I’m talking about the comments to his death announcement on the Daily Mail UK.
The media does not reflect what average people think. You should know that.
Epitaph on the Politician Himself
Here richly, with ridiculous display,
The Politicians corpse was laid away.
While all of his acquaintance sneered and slanged
I wept : for I had longed to see him hanged.

Epitaph
Posterity will neer survey
A nobler grave than this:
Here lie the bones of Ted Kennedy
Stop traveller, and piss.
Apologies to Lord Byron
Mary Jo is looking for Ted to give him directions to H-ll.
Wonder if he had end of life council before he got knocked off by a shot or pill.
What goes around ,comes around.
Funny how life works & things catch up with you when you thought you got away with something.
The BIG BROTHER (or BIG SISTER) upstairs is watching you.

New holiday coming soon, new $100.00 bill, no, wait, new $1000.00 bill, there finally got it right.
Excellent!

Spare me the beatification! Isn't it hard enough down here without that?
I can’t wait for that episode.
I sure would like someone to add up the total charitible contributions he made during his public life and compare that to his estimated net worth.
That would give the true measure of his concern for the poor.
I am sure he left all his money to homeless shelters upon his death, to show his true compassion! ROFL right! That’s about as likely as a Kennedy being a tea totaller.
Exactly. I didn’t watch Michael Jackson and I sure as hell am not watching Kennedy.
To be expected from the Guardian. (They even praise Obama)
