Didn't they stop using fuel prices in their calculations several years ago?

SS increases are not based on fuel or any other prices, only on an index of wages.

Social Security had a $ 700,000.00 party this year. Not counting their big shots getting their bonuses

Social Security was described by the US Supreme Court as a system of “public benefits” in the case they heard in 1971, and which I cited in post 50.

Here’s another website about “public benefits:”

PUBLIC BENEFITS: Easing Poverty and Ensuring Medical Coverage

When individuals and families experience crises such as job loss, illness, disability, or divorce, they may face the prospect of falling into poverty (or becoming poorer) and losing health insurance coverage. Various government assistance programs are designed to lessen these hardships.

Socialism implies SOMETHING FOR NOTHING. Taking something from one person, giving to another who didn’t earn it.

Just because money was stolen from a second person to pay the first person, doesn't mean that the second person should be reimbursed with money stolen from a third person.

But yet that's exactly how Social Security functions.

I just found out that Costa Rica has the “happiest life” index in the world. They respect the elders. My husband and I are in our 70’s and we are not tied to living in the U.S. We and our money can live other places.

If the Democrat Party can’t kill our elderly with their death panels, then they’ll starve them out by stealing their money.

Projection.

Whatever the leftists accuse us of, assume they are doing that.

For decades of election cycles, they have accused Republicans of planning to cut Social Security. And they have done so to scare the hell out of our seasoned citizens to ensure they vote for the Leftists.

But when we separate the wheat from the chaff, we see that it is they, the Leftists, the Democrats, the socialists, the Keynesians, the soon-to-be-Stalinists, who first cut off the funding of our seasoned citizens and, if they have their way, will soon cut off the funding for their medical care.

Hey, there is a huge cost associated with Onadacare and Onadatown (this is his plan, announced a week or so ago, for the fed. gov’t to subsidize low income rental apartments). Unemployment will continue to rise for the forseeable future. Result: Declining tax revenue.

Gotta get the money somewhere.

But the good news is that The Marxist Onada is now attacking Social Security. On top of the two things I mentioned above; and along with the continuing problems on Wall Street and in the housing industry; and along with continuing gaffs like using the “wee wee” term; The Messiah continues to shoot himself in the foot.

I’m not exuberantly giddy about the prospect that Onada’s reign is unraveling so fast. But it sure looks good at the moment.

If the lieing sob’s who hold these elected offices paid into SS there would be no problems. But they don’t and therefore could care less. They are set for life and to hell with the little people. Time for the change they weren’t counting on.

If you are not actively kicking up tax payments to the government capo’s, you are a cost center. You cost them. So, get in the box. Screw. Bug off.

Present medical care is keeping old people alive much too much long. This means longer Social Security, government pension payments and other costs.

Obama care will, knowingly, destroy the existing system and replace it with an accelerated program of getting old, used up, budget polluting clunker citizens ....’off the road’ so to speak. Thus savings trillions off dollars.

Well hold on for a tick. You're telling me that as Obama raises taxes, the benefits go down?

Huh.

Not sure where all of this dialogue got off track, but let’s stick with the fundamentals of this decision. It is a political disaster for the RATS with seniors, and it won’t help passage of Obamacare, either.

Still, a lot of the American people affected by this remain steadfast supporters of their destroyers.
