A bouncer at a slick East Village lounge was killed and two revelers wounded during a wild sidewalk shooting that rattled the trendy neighborhood early Sunday, police and witnesses said.
Eric "Taz" Pagan was off-duty but hanging out at Forbidden City, a hip Asian-themed bar on Ave. A near E. 13th St., when he took a fatal bullet to the head trying to break up a fight just outside the lounge at 5 a.m., police and witnesses said.
Pagan, 42, and other Forbidden City employees ran from the shuttered bar just as a man stepped out of a idling white van brandishing a handgun, horrified witnesses said.
"I saw a big guy get out of the driver's seat with a gun," said witness Eric Searle, a nightlife promoter who was standing across the street.
"He then walked around a car and popped one guy," said Searle. "He then walked around another car, went straight up to Taz and capped him point blank in the forehead."
"He collapsed and there was blood pouring everywhere," said Searle, 28. "The shooter didn't say anything - not a word. He just capped those guys and walked back to his car and drove off."

Gang hit?
“The shooter didn’t say anything - not a word. He just capped those guys and walked back to his car and drove off.”
...it’s just that easy when you disarm the masses. He may as well have gone inside for a drink and an appetizer.
Wow, I used to live on that corner.
but guns are illegal in New York City
The precinct house is further down, right?
And a single father of a couple of teenagers?
Some tricks are hard to do...
Nothing like a nice "slick lounge" in a "trendy neighborhood," especially at 5 am. You meet the coolest people. Sheesh.
Yeah, and now Bloomers will try to grab more. ie: stricter gun laws
Looks like alphabet city is beginning to live up to its reputation again.
No, not in that part of the East Village.
stepped out of a idling white van brandishing a handgun, horrified witnesses said.
This has to be all made up because as we all know guns are illegal in NYC.
When I lived in the Alphabet, B was a little shady especially town by Tompkins Square.
My first cousin, in Baltimore, once threw a bouncer through a plate glass window for hitting on his wife while he was in the restroom. The bar offered him a job.
Obama will save us.
I see it’s the 9th Precinct on 5th, between 1st and 2nd aves. So much for memory.
There was another shooting, Friday night I think, at the South Sea seaport.
But how can that happen when guns are illegal in NYC?
Wow, you mean there are, or were other conservatives in NYC? Tell me more of that time, that special time before the Marxist occupation. Were there many like us? Were there singing birds and gum drop smiles?.....
It appears the quoted “promoter” is as much scum as the shooter.
What they obviously need are tougher gun laws.
