Blair denies Libyan claims of Lockerbie deal

Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair said Saturday no deals were ever made with Libya while he was in power to arrange the Lockerbie bomber's release, a move that has caused outrage in the United States.

In an exclusive interview with CNN, Blair denied claims -- made Friday by the son of Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi -- that he raised the case of Abdelbeset Ali Mohmed al Megrahi every time he visited Libya as prime minister.

"Let me make one thing absolutely clear," Blair, who stepped down as PM in 2007, told CNN's John Vause on Saturday in Guiyang, China. "The Libyans, of course, were raising the case for Megrahi all the way along, not just with me but with everybody. It was a major national concern for them. But as I used to say to them, I don't have the power to release Mr. Megrahi."

FBI director Robert Mueller has launched a scathing attack on Scottish Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill over the release of the Lockerbie bomber.

This is what happens when countries are broke..they are forced to sell their virtue to the highest bidder.
Then they proceed to lie about it. It is disgracefull.

From the moment I heard they were going to free this killer I could not help but be reminded of Arlen Spector reverting to Scottish law when he decided to cover over Bill Clinton during impeachment.

I am still trying to make ‘sense’ out of what I am being told about Scottish law.

I’m dumbfounded at the release of this terrorist. A high school classmate of mine, Keith Thomas, was murdered on pan-am fight 103 over Lockerbie. I temper my outrage at the Brits knowing our own newly elected Pres**ent wants to move hundreds more terrorists, including the architect of 9-11 to the US from Gitmo. The only way they should be allowed in the US is hanged upside down from the entrance to the Lincoln tunnel and left there until they are just bleached bone wind chimes.

It’s the Scottish judge, is it not?

(and also possibly any backroom deal)

I was watching Fox last night and they were talking with a senior member of the Scottish Parliament (I didn’t get his name) and he said that at this moment he is ashamed to be a Scotsman.

"I temper my outrage at the Brits knowing our own newly elected Pres**ent.."

No need to temper. It’s not a zero sum game. You can and should, IMHO, allow the current burdening of America by Obama to multiply your outrage at the British.
