Break off San Francisco. Reboot.
California- Extremely liberal with socialist elements throughout
Oregon- Not to be out down by its neighbor to the south, a communist state
Michigan- every solution to bad economics- regulate, tax, spend.
Rhode Island- People's Republic of RI.
Nevada- Has abandon its libertarian way for liberalism.

I’ve been there. I applied for the extension(this was few years ago, BTW)and the helpful employee on the line tried to tell me how to cheat so I could get the extension, but I declined to do that. Things worked out but I would hate to be in that situation now.

Years ago after I retired from the Army, I was a Human Resources Director in Southern California with a company that was regulated by the South Coastal Air Quality Management District. Every year we had to submit a plan on how we were going to contribute to reducing pollutants into the atmosphere. One of the things we could do to “get points” towards our plan acceptance was to commit to buy 1975 or earlier make automobiles and have them crushed by a junk yard. I always felt a little guilty about this because I wondered if we did that, what are the Illegal Aliens going to drive? Eventually that company moved out of California because of the pervasive costs to do business there. I left at the same time.
