Has anyone noticed when they sign on to AOL, social networks or surf the net, there are banner ads touting "Obama wants to send you to college" or "Obama wants to lower your insurance". What is going on?
It disturbs me that any politician would be elevated this way--especially when it puts him in the company of celebrity leaders like Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Castro and Chavez who were/are beloved leaders who promised to improve life for the believers at other people's expense. This isn't Obama paying for college or insurance, it's the taxpayers! It should be advertised as such: "Do things you can't afford! All on your neighbor's dime!"
They also appear on Facebook. I just ignore them.
I click the “thumbs down” when I see that crap.

I’ve noticed these ads all over. How about this one “Obama wants mothers to go back to school”. Yes, master. Anything you say, master.

Since Facebook does hypertargeting with ads (ads based on your characteristics), it would be more accurate for some to say:
— Obama wants YOU to send your neighbors to college
— Obama wants YOU to pay their insurance
— Obama wants YOU _______________________
Of course, those wouldn’t sound as good.

There’s also the one that depicts two women marching lock-step with the caption “Obama wants women to go back to college”. Whenever I see it I think that they look like two “Obamobots”
Obama wants to do everything for you except defend this nation...which is pretty much the only thing he is charged with under the constitution. We Americans need to remind him to stay in his own paygrade...

Nah—I cut them some slack on that. Those are just recycled from the Mortgage ads. If anything that graphic is counterproductive.
They seem to have nice rainbow backgrounds too.
I suspect these are small private businesses whose niche is online education. They probably have determined in this day of using other peoples money for everything, they can get folks to come to their sites to sign up for online stuff with these ads. When you get there, there will be the usual govt subsidies - student loans and the like - to help pay. So, there is a little bit of bait-n-switch, come to the site expecting big handout, get there and find you still have to buy the bulk of the education (maybe they help with the forms for student loans).

I noticed it but couldn’t put into words what I found objectionable: Obama is bigger than the office. Cult of personality. Campaign targeted to the stupid, the gullible. So many things wrong with it.

I signed up for the ‘$30billion in stimulus’ Obama had for us all!! Or so I thought. So when you click on it, you end up having to go through 14 spam sites that want ALL YOUR INFO and guess what, you never get any information on any grants or scholarships. (I knew once I saw the first spam site what was going on, but I just wondered how long before you actually get to anything to do with a government grant and I stopped at FOURTEEN. I gave fake info)
So Obama lied (I know, you are all so shocked) AND the low life spammers are taking advantage of people THINKING they are signing up for a government program when it is ONLINE UNIVERSITIES wanting you to sign up for someone to contact you.
Followed by "but do I have to get one of them GEDs?"
I agree - I am sick and tired of hearing about what Obama wants. I could not care less about what he wants if I tried. How about what I want?
For example: I want him to obey the Constitution. I want him to stop spending my tax dollars on stupid things like those flippin’ ads. I want Obama to sit down, shut up, and do his bloody job. I want Obama to give all Americans at least a 3-month tax holiday - say, from now until after the first of the year - and expand our drilling for oil so we can reduce our dependence on foreign oil and other resources.
I want Obama to get rid of those ridiculous czars. I want Obama to focus on winning the war in Afghanistan. I want Obama to walk to a microphone in front of all of the media sycophants that follow his every move, admit that he doesn’t know what he’s doing or have the qualifications to be President and get out of the way so someone who actually might be able to get us out of this economic tailspin before we crash and burn can do so.
