The wife of philandering former Sen. John Edwards said she expects a paternity test will take place soon to determine the father of the 18-month-old child of her hubby's former mistress.
In an interview on CNN's "Larry King Live," Elizabeth Edwards confronted rumors that her cheating husband was set to claim paternity of little Frances, his alleged love child with ex-mistress Rielle Hunter.
When asked about testing the paternity of the baby, Edwards said her "expectation is that, at some point, something happens. And I hope for the sake of this child that it happens, you know, in a quiet way."
Edwards, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2007, has said in the past she has seen a picture of the baby girl but had "no idea" whether her husband is the father of Hunter's child.

That poor child ... with these two as the parents ... it doesn’t have much of a chance. Two idiots will raise the child into an idiot.

It must be pretty difficult to look at that baby and see Edwards’ features in her face. She looks more like John than do Elizabeth’s two IVF babies.

I don’t that Elizabeth doesn’t know that that little baby is by hubby. I beleive she had that get even book tour to lash out and “get even” before she couldn’t make public appearances. The cancer has now spread to her bone. Depending on where it spread, amputation could stop it but it depends on where the bone cancer is. She is having a horrible ending from all perspectives.

I was under the impression that a paternity test had already been taken, and it was proven that “My Little Pony”-boy was the father... Perhaps Elizabeth was referring to something else — like her divorcing him... Or his being brought up on charges related to the testimony his mistress gave in DC the other day...
So were the reports that Silky Pony was the father of Rielle’s baby NOT based on the actual test? Sounds like, from this interview, that the DNA results were not yet in. What was the date of this interview?
I was wondering how her illness was progressing. Bone Cancer is very painful from what I hear (my aunt died of it back in the early 80s). I feel bad for her — the stress and contention at home could NOT have helped in her fight against this disease — her husband’s actions probably hurt her chances for survival a lot (I believe there is a strong connection between emotions, and healing...).
Rielle is one women who would probably do it.
Nothing like doing it in a “quiet way” by broadcasting it on LKL.

Actually, she was diagnosed with breast cancer in the later months of 2004. It was discovered the cancer had spread to her bones in 2007.

no matter what. I am praying for Elizabeth Edwards. She has a horrific disease that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. She has been deceived by her husband, humilitated over and over by her husband and on top of it all she has to have cancer which she knows is going to shorten her life and she will not live to see her children into adulthood. That’s pretty sad when you think about it and because of that..I coudl care less about her old man...I just hope and pray she remains strong and spends all the time she can with her children. God bless her and maybe there will be a miracle. Would be nice. I pray for ALL those who are so ill and terminal.

A former boss of mine has a very cute little boy. I remarked to him that Edwards’ little boy is very appealing. He replied, “Well, his father’s a cute little boy, too.” I thought that was funny.
Geez, now you got me feeling sorry for her, and believe me, nobody merits my sympathy less than EE.
She had to have always known. Saying otherwise is implying that Hunter is a whore. I mean, he was busted when he went to see her and the baby, for crying out loud.

I've had relatives die of bone cancer. It's horrible. You just wait till it totally takes over if it is not a limb that can be amputated. My relatives had the bone cancer where amputation was not possible.
She and her husband milked her cancer for political gain and she knew all along that he had an affair, she went along with the charade. She wanted power as much as he did. She's despicable.
