DENVER - A local teenager is back home, after being kidnapped and held hostage in Mexico for two years, by an abusive boyfriend.
Her parents say Alisha Martinez had been missing since April of 2007. They say she first met 22 year old Adan Garcia-Cruz when she was 14. He checked her out of school one day, saying he was her uncle.
The parents called police, who arrested Garcia-Cruz two weeks later. And Alisha returned home.
That's when her parents found out she was pregnant. Garcia-Cruz was arrested on numerous counts of sexual assault on a child, and service time.
But Immigration failed to pick him up to deport him. And two days after his release, he kidnapped Alisha and the baby and took them to Mexico. Her parents say he beat her and abused her, and fathered another child with her.
They say she tried to escape, but he caught her and things just got worse. Finally, a couple of weeks ago, she was able to get to a phone and make a frantic call to her father.
They say after two weeks of bureaucratic nightmares, they were finally able to bring her home.
But a relative warned them that Garcia-Cruz has illegally re-entered the United States and they are afraid he will make good on threats to recapture her.
Police say there is a warrant for his arrest and they are keeping an eye out for him. The family says the Missing Children Task Force and the Mountain View Police Department were instrumental in helping get Alisha back.

630 KHOW will host a fundraiser for those kids tomorrow.
Very sad.
(I hope people don’t blame her the way they blamed Elizabeth Smart.)
They will blame her and show “compassion” for the rapist.
We live in Bizarro world but you already know that.
If her dad shot him I would have nothing to say but “good job”.
“But a relative warned them that Garcia-Cruz has illegally re-entered the United States and they are afraid he will make good on threats to recapture her.”
The next time he shows up, exercise your 2nd Amendment rights!
Some folks just need killin’
Does that include the Iron Maiden?
Of course not. Why should she be responsible for her actions in any way? After all, she was just a child, hormones raging, etc etc.
One word fix to the scummy situation... BLACKWATER.
Don’t know. Since there’s no picture!
:)
I suggest giving this young woman a hand gun and training. At least she’ll have a chance if she can be taught to shoot-to-kill.
We don’t need no stupid laws to do as we please in your country. When will this country wake up?
And the school just let this guy they didn't know take a teenage girl out of their school? At our kids' school, they KNOW who is allowed to pick up my kids, and you have to have a special electronic key to enter the school.
Geesh, and people wonder why we spend the money to put our kids in private school...
He checked her out of school...and she didnt say a word of protestation to anyone at the school?
Rrrrrright.
She dug her own hole.
If her father had any balls he’d be anxious for the guy to come back around...however, I suspect he doesnt.
Yawn, nothing I’m gonna get worked up over.
Just so. You can’t really blame the school. Obviously the girl played along and said, yes, he’s my uncle.
We sometimes need to send a grandmother or an uncle to pick up kids from school when their mother is tied up with business or off on a short trip. What do you want from our schools, reasonable checks, or a stubborn bureaucratic policy of only releasing the child to the mother?
Which, no doubt, is now the case at that school.
You think she knew she was going to be kidnapped and raped? Probably thought they were skipping school. You ever skip school? Bueller? Bueller?
Oh and before you ask, yes I did, 22 days the second semester of my senior year, until my dad found out and he and his constable buddy hunted me down.
This kind of child exploitation is rampant and made all the more so
by evil organizations like Planned Parenthood.
They have been routinely covering up for statutory rapists for
decades.
Several years back Colorado RTL took audio taped evidence of a
PP sting to Colorado AG John Suthers’ office. The clip revealed they told the underage girl to call back and not mention the age of the adult male involved.
Suthers’ deputy AG said nothing could be done.

You mean the Rock Group?
lol! Just kidding!
Yeah.. I know...
Wouldn’t want to spend anytime in one.
Great future for our kids, huh?
What? One of our fine, super efficient federal agencies failed in its duties? Who woulda guessed? Oh, well, things will go much better with Obamacare.
Another example of why an uncontrolled border with Mexico is a bad thing....that, and who the Hell allows their child to associate with scum like that.
I say the parents didn't go to Mexico to get her possibly because some or all of them are illegals.
As a coworker of mine used to say, "T'ank you, Presidente Booosh!"
Peter Boyles was speaking about this on the radio. He had the mother of the girl on today. Parents are 100% American as is the girl. From what Boyles was saying, they had to do a lot of greasing of palms down there to get her out.
