EDINBURGH, Scotland — Scotland freed the terminally ill Lockerbie bomber on compassionate grounds Thursday, allowing him to die at home in Libya despite American protests that mercy should not be shown to the man responsible for the deaths of 270 people.
Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill said Abdel Baset al-Megrahi's condition had deteriorated from prostate cancer. Al-Megrahi had only served some eight years of a life sentence, but MacAskill said he was bound by Scottish values to release him.

Not sure if you heard them discussing how they drove him back and forth for medical treatments—knowing what we now know about the UK’s socialized medical system, we have to wonder how many elderly cancer patients had to forego their treatments so this scum could have his.
The Scottish Minister of Justice had a nice long explanation about how his lack of compassion for his victims was not a factor in the Scottish people displaying their own humanity. Tell that to Braveheart.

True compassion would have sentenced him to death in the first place. What we are watching is “liberal compassion” which is not compassion at all. It inflicts more pain on the victims.

Can I point out some wrong information from Fox News.
1. The vast, vast majority of Scots are as angry as you.
2. Gordon Brown hasn’t criticised this so this has the silent thumbs up from the British Government.
3. This has NOTHING to do with compassion. This is about a deal with Libya and a cover up because most people in the know don’t think Megrahi did it. They believe his appeal would have shown that he did NOT do it. Many believe it was Iran and that the USA and UK know this.
4. Fox News says Megrahi is in Glasgow. This is wrong he is in Greenock.
5. Fox says a “Judge” released him. This is wrong, he was released by the Scottish Executive’s Justice Minister. A politician.

Thanks, what I am saying is that this is NOT about compassion. This is about a cover-up of the Scottish Justice system because many believe the appeal Megrahi was making would have won - and so as he was dying they made a deal asking him to drop his appeal (which he did) so he could be released.
This is not an anti-American move or about compassion - this is a get-out.
One of the passengers who was on the flight before it continued its flight to the US mentioned meeting a little girl in a red dress.
He wept saying, The little girl in the red dress did not deserve such an ending.
Mizzies like Megrahi have no compassion for the victims aboard Pan Am Flight 103.
To what miles away seems like a trivial matter (ie geography not the release) seems to us here like a monster mistake.
