A Florida teenager could face felony vandalism charges for allegedly gluing posters depicting President Obama as the Joker onto public property, FOXNews.com has learned.
Clermont, Fla., Police Capt. Eric Jensen said the state attorney will review evidence to determine whether to charge the unidentified teenager with gluing "dozens" of the posters last week to the city's light poles, public and private buildings, bridge overpasses, road signs and a mailbox.

wow. Bushitler was spray painted was all over our public services near my house for several years, and not a peep about vandalism.
then come election time..all candidates can be charged due to the election campaign signs plastered all over the place
Thuggy dems don’t put up with teenagers sticking up posters. Now they do put up with teen gangs that sell drugs and are violent. But some young person who dares to express a conservative political opinion? Ruin his life. ( dems are the haters)
But “gangbanger” graffiti is still considered “art”. Welcome to the Amerikan police state!
What about that Fairy guy shouldn’t he be charged too for that “Hope” poster?
In a perfect world, all vandalism would be punished. However, since anti-Bush vandalism was left unchecked, what’s good for the goose is good for the gander. Freepers need to document cases of liberal graffiti and vandalism. There were several cases in Cocoa Florida area of people having tires slashed, cars keyed, or windows smashed who had McCain stickers. If that wasn’t prosecuted it doesn’t make any sense to prosecute a kid putting up stickers - all they do is make the place look bad.
I have two words, if this gets that far: jury nullification :)
He is guilty of doubleplusungood crimethink. The Ministry of Love will set him straight. All must love Big Brother Obama.
/Orwell
Another example of the left’s hypocracy. They spew and project exactly who THEY are. Evil, antiAmerican? Look upon your own images in the mirror oh great Democrats, Lords of freedom.
I didn’t know it was illegal to post lost dog posters.
Well, the Florida AG is a former Republican State Congresscritter.
I used the FR excerpt button. Why the further edits?
Oh yeah...doubleplusungood! Great post. Does the rat cage over the head come at the end?
Depends on the jury. A jury of liberals and/or minorities this kid is screwed.
FOX doesn’t mind we post, they just want the hits, by leaving out more, it makes us go to their website
I think....
I understand that. But I excerpted the thing in the first place. Just like I’m supposed to do. Then the moderator comes along and excerpts the excerpt.
It’s ONLY a crime if the poster is AGAINST a Democrat.
If it’s against a REPUBLICAN, it’s your “Patriotic Duty”, and “Free Speech”.
Welcome to Fascist America. This kid WILL be made an example of, while Code Pink got off with tickets for local posting ordinance violations.
yet voter intimidation by black panthers, caught on video nonetheless, goes unpunished....another hypocrisy the GOP should be yelling about...
btw: this is not an advertisement but I received an e-mail from the Tea Party Express store yesterday where you can purchase obama joker t-shirts and bumper stickers...

This is political and not about a crime.
In a perfect world, all vandalism would be punished.

Is it vanfalism or political speech?
Let’s leave the private property signs to the side (as we can both agree nobody has a right to post something on private property) and just deal with public property.
The signs clearly are political speech.
Is a sign a “less protected” form of political speech?
Are laws that prohibit the posting of signs on public property an infringement off free speech (if the man was standing on public property saying “Obama is the Joker” everyone would agree it is protected political speech)?
ah yes- a kid pulls a prank on the annointed one, and gets slapped with felony charges, but a Jon Cardin uses TAXPAYER MONEY to ‘cause a ruckus’ so that he can propose to his girlfriend during hte ruckus, and he’s forgiven because he’s a democrat, and the papers barely mention it- This Cardin STOLE MONEY FROM THE PUBLIC!
it might be a number of words thing, a special agreement... :)
From reading the Fox New account, it seems the authorities are the ones who damaged the mailboxes. If they’d used a chemical adhesive remover instead of a pocketknife, they could have removed the glue without damage, probably.
It has the appearance of selective prosecution, but the kid did put the posters on mailboxes, and that’s a stupid thing to do, IMO.
“Its ONLY a crime if the poster is AGAINST a Democrat”
Replace democrat with marxist and that statement will be 100% accurate.
They cant arrest us all... EVERYONE needs to get busy sticking these signs up. Everywhere... And any time they go after someone for it, we need to make sure we redouble the amount of posters already out there.

Obama’s “Joker” Poster: Who Has the Last Laugh?
Obama’s biggest headaches may be coming from the left as much as they are from the right

Posters mysteriously appeared on the streets of Los Angeles and Chicago depicting Obama as the white-faced Joker from Batman. At least we now know who created the image.

Increasingly, it’s looking like President Obama’s biggest headaches may be coming from the left as much as they are from the right. That’s clearly seen in the revolt among progressives in the House over the White House’s apparent dumping of the public option in health care.
It’s now somewhat obvious in the revelation of who was behind the now-famous Obama-as-Heath Ledger/Joker poster caricature that has swept the Internet in recent weeks. The charge has been put forward — most strongly in a lengthy Washington Post article — that the image is essentially racist.
Of course, it’s not just the design that has gotten many people upset. It’s the marriage of the design with the stark “SOCIALISM” word below the picture. But the designer, Firas Alktaheeb, is actually a Chicagoan — yep, the president’s own homeboy — whose criticisms of Obama are hardly hard-core right-wing:
“After Obama was elected, you had all of these people who basically saw him as the second coming of Christ,” Alkhateeb said. “From my perspective, there wasn’t much substance to him.”
“I abstained from voting in November,” he wrote in an e-mail. “Living in Illinois, my vote means close to nothing as there was no chance Obama would not win the state.” If he had to choose a politician to support, Alkhateeb said, it would be Ohio Democratic Rep. Dennis Kucinich.
That would be the same Kucinich who was a founding member of the House Out of Iraq Caucus and who ran an ill-fated presidential campaign as the farthest left candidate in the race. Actually, the only area where Alkhateeb gives Obama high marks is in his handling of foreign policy.
It’s not exactly fair to stereotype, but perhaps the overly creative nature of the design — initially a rather ornate Photoshop melding of a Time magazine cover of Obama with a made-up Heath Ledger — should have been a strong clue to its ideological origins. It’s not to say that conservatives don’t indulge in electronic graffiti of this nature. Some do. But this type of strike against the dominant cultural theme usually comes from the left — regardless of who is in power.
After all, “Hey, hey, LBJ, how many kids did you kill today?” was not a chant crafted by conservative middle-class kids in the heartland.
Once again, for another Democratic president, if he doesn’t take care to keep an eye on his left, the joke will be on him.

Room 101 is different for each person, but yes, if things keep going this way, it does.
For those not familiar with Orwell, one goal of a statist is to make nothing - or equivalently everything - illegal, and to instead punish the thoughts behind actions instead of the actions. See, for examples, politically motivated selective prosecution (this case) or “hate crimes.” And the worse crime? Failing to love Big Brother (Obama)...

Then they better go after all the folks putting up garage sale signs and lost kitty pictures and benefit posters for terminally ill children.
There were no felony prosecutions of the Obamunists in 2008. There was no felony prosecution of those who painted "BUSH" under the word STOP on stop signs.
Either this has become "acceptable" discourse or it hasn't. Selective enforcement (especially when leftists are posting their handiwork online boasting of it) is itself "criminal".
Those who speak out against the Socialist ideals of Barack Obama are now enemies of the Party and enemies of the Statists.
They will receive the same treatment as Joe the Plumber and Sarah Palin.
Of course, why would Jesus drink Bud if He could whip himself up a batch of the good stuff?
People in his town should start putting the poster in their yards and business windows as support for him if this case goes over the line. There’s some law about mail boxes being the property of the USPS but funny that I bought mine with my own money and it’s on my private property but whatever. If I can decorate my mailbox for Christmas, I can certainly put a joker poster on it.
The artist who did this was in town at a high profile event and “high fiving” those in his circle of influence afterwards. It got reported on the news but there was no suspect named and I doubt there was ever any prosecution.
Yet it is hate speech. Funny thing is, he was hating on Jesus twice by mocking him with the original “insult” (the crown of thorns was put on the one known as King Of The Jews).
Why not throw some more Christians to the lions?
This world has not changed much in 2000 years.
The thing is the kid is a frothing at the mouth moonbat lib!
bwahahaha
1. political speech. (see USSC case on “f*** the draft”)
2. selective enforcement. (see utter lack of prosecution of anti GWBush or ANY anti-republican vanalism of signs. Seriously FL has a SERIOUS problem with candidate sign vanalism)
3. ON THE OTHER SIDE, there is time place and manner issues. But, number two takes care of that by showing OTHER unprosecuted crimes.
I believe it is illegal to post lost dog posters - but it's not enforced. Laws against gang graffiti vandalism aren't enforced either.
But this kid - who dared to put up something uncomplimentary to a liberal - must be punished. So the full force of the law will be used against him. Conservatives are the "Joos" of our time.
Does this “law” also include all the “GANG” (Dumocrats and duggies etc) that polute the cities walls and fences?
Of course this charge will not be applied against anyone who trashes Republicans.
When there is selective enforcement of a law, the law becomes invalid and any further prosecutions are invalid and worthless.
How about a couple of hundred thousand patriots go to that courthouse if there is a trial? It’s gotta start somewhere.
Convicted felons can not vote... think about the implications for a moment.
I don't think it was a private mail box but instead a large public drop mail box that the postal service uses. It would be the only mail box large enough to glue a poster to and they are blue which matches to color of the paint that they had to repaint it with after scraping off the glue from the poster.
From the article:
“Maria Kayanan, associate legal director of Florida's American Civil Liberties Union chapter, said the case does not appear to be a First Amendment issue, citing the property damage.”
“If it was just a poster that didn't cause any destruction, that’d be an entirely different thing,” she told FOXNews.com.
A few months ago an actress, I forget her name, was videoed putting up save the shark posters in Oklahoma City of all places. The police were going to charge her with vandalism. I believe in the end she had to give a public apology and pay for the damages. I expect the same will happen to this guy. If he co-operates I expect he won't be charged with anything. If you read the whole article this doesn't appear to be a politically motivated prosecution. Apparently it wouldn't have been anything at all except he used super sticky glue to affix the posters which caused damage to the surfaces of the objects he affixed them to.
