Congressman Eric Massa (D-N.Y.)addressed other issues during his talk with progressive online activists at Netroots Nation 2009. He commented that a statement made by Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) last week was an “act of treason.” Mr. Grassley recently made waves after saying that there should not be a government healthcare plan that would “pull the plug on granny.” In the video, above (:38 seconds in) Mr. Massa says:
MASSA: I mean, what Grassley said the other day was an act of treason. I'm sorry. It's not being called on.

In a conference call today, Mr. Massa told journalists,(audio from call at link):
“There comes a time when members of Congress sometimes must vote against popular opinion because they know it is in the interest of their districts in the country.”
The New York congressman also quoted former president Ronald Reagan to defend his position.:
“We must have the courage to do what we know is morally right.”
It should be noted that 1961 audio of the former president is circulating around the web, where Mr. Reagan speaks out against socialized medicine.

Heh, Treasonous... Almost ALL of our Representatives and Senators vote for things that are against the Constitution every day! When will we decide to do something about it!
It is getting so that only the outrageous gets any media - the idiotic things that they vote for gets no media - no matter if it is actually against the Constitution...

It is not far away. The last thing in the world you want to be in this country today is an elected official or liberal.
I sure hope you’re right! I would really like to see this revolt during my lifetime. I really fear for the country at the present rate of loss of freedoms (yes that means really - we keep creeping toward Socialism).

You are 100% right and a large number of our citizens and military understand it that way. These idiots are cruising into dangerous territory and are going to get a reaction they have not counted on. When it happens they will wish they had never gone there in the first place but it will be too late.
