Honduras charges Zelaya supporters with sedition

Two dozen supporters of Honduras' ousted president were charged with sedition Friday in an intensifying crackdown on protests against the coup-installed government.

Protests to demand the return of ousted President Manuel Zelaya turned violent in the Honduran capital this week, with police firing tear gas and demonstrators fighting back with sticks and stones. Some protesters attacked the vice president of Congress, although he wasn't injured.

Some 24 demonstrators were charged with sedition and damaging private property, said Melvin Duarte, a spokesman for the federal prosecutor's office. Another four were charged with aggravated arson and terrorism in the burning of a bus and a restaurant.

Interim President Roberto Micheletti condemned the clashes as "violent and terrorist" and vowed his government would no longer tolerate street blockades and other disruptions.

Zelaya, a timber magnate who veered to the left midway through his presidency, was ousted by the army June 28 and flown out of the country.

Micheletti, the former congressional president chosen by lawmakers to replace Zelaya, has refused to consider reinstating the ousted leader despite worldwide condemnation and the suspension of millions of dollars in U.S. and European development aid.

This is a microcosm of what'll take place here in the next year- or so. The Chicago Style and the Chavez Style bear some unique similarities. The heavy hand of the bolshevics will reveal itself during the census (Acorn) and the mid-term elections.

There are a significant number of dis-satisfied "yoots" out there (unemployed) who would gladly sign-up for duty in a civilian 'defense' force (funded by us, of course). That way, they'll get to exercise the 'gangsta edge' they've been working on these many years.

The canary in the mine croaked in Iran recently, one can only hope it doesn't in Honduras. Here at home, Ayatollah Obama is about to make Health Care a state-run enterprise. What's next? The television stations? (They're already on board)

Wow, a whole two dozen Stalinist traitors.

Make that 29 (four others burned a bus and restaurant and millions are being withheld by US and Europeans in development aid)

AP IS the enemy. I just posted this on another Honduras thread. If you have a ping list for Honduras/Zelaya, please add me:

I have been trying to keep tabs on the situation, whether Bambi is sending in troops ala Reagan in Panama or Bubba’s Haiti caper, but all I can find in Google and Yahoo are stories about how nasty the “coup” leaders are and the “military backed” government will not listen to OAS or the rest of the world. Just makes you sick. Bambi got on the wrong side of this thing at request of Hugo and he just won’t back down. Sen. Lugar and others have tried to bring him around, but he is just a Commie toadie. Zelaya cannot be allowed to return to power until eleciton in November. There wound be just way too much retribution. He might even invite in Hugo, or Daniel Ortega’s Sandanistas and stage his own coup with their muscle. This is sick!

Of course 0bama is supporting Zelaya.

Zelaya is doing precisely what 0bama intends to do, illegally override his country’s constitutional and supreme court supported term limits and become president for life.

IF he can aid Zelaya is succeeding in his coup, 0bama can then cite it as an international law precedent for life time presidency...
