What constitutes "hateful speech?" It depends on the views of the individual, or in this case the advocacy group propagating the claim.
Earlier this week, Plymouth, Wisc.-based Sargento Food, Inc., along with several other companies, pulled their advertising from the Fox News Channel's "Glenn Beck" program at the behest of a campaign by Color of Change, an advocacy group.

Losing an advertiser did not seem to hurt David Letterman and I do not see how losing an advertiser will hurt Glenn Beck.
They just made my banned products list.
I would like Beck to publicly provide a list of companies that have removed their advertising for this or similar reasons.
Those companies may not like the results.
Wait until Obama starts going after the cheese makers.

I’ve never bought anything because of an ad and never pay any attention to them.
The MSM’s ratings/earnings plunge is proof positive of who will win any boycott contests.
So go ahead Sargento, P&G, et al. Maybe you can make your bucks from the welfare crowd from now on.

Beck is the only thing I watch on tv regularly; his show yesterday with Pat Caddell about the Emanuel Bros, was great, but Beck needed Caddell on for a full hour, not just 3 minutes!
I jut caled and spoje with them. They seemed pleased to lose my business.

To call Beck a hate monger is an accusation against all the decent folks who watch his show.

They need to ask themselves more questions. Why do they advertise? By them pulling out, their competition can get in there....Its all about sales. You dont have sales, you cant have a profit. You cant exist.

I asked her what constitutes "hateful speech" in Sargento's opinion. No answer.
I told her that Beck is simply stating facts and ties between the Obama administration and self-described communists, anarchists, leftists and radicals; and I didn't equate fact-reporting with hate speech. I also told her that the pepper jack slices in my fridge were going in the trash and no other Sargento product would enter my home, unless and until Sargento apologizes for mischaracterizing Beck's commentary.
She thanked me for calling.
I understand Sargento Foods has cancelled advertising on the Glenn Beck Show, Fox News Channel, because of what some advocacy group claims to be "Hateful Speech". Your decision is an affront to all loyal customers who watch that show. I'm not a racist, not a hate monger, not a right-wing wacko. I'm a 66 year old retiree who wants our government to be returned to the people; not the socialists in the Democrat Party.Since you are so moved by a fringe group that you would pull advertising, I see no reason why I shouldn't "pull" all future sales and place them with a company concerned about American freedom, not their own deceitful image.
I can assure you I have a large base of friends, relatives and acquaintances, and I will encourage everyone to follow my lead. Knowing their political proclivities as I do, I suspect there will be many who follow suit.

I went to their site and used their e-form to send them a note. I was respectful but reminded them that their was no need to do this and that they have foolishly brought any negative consequences upon themselves.
Glenn Beck isn’t guilty of “hateful speech”. Criticizing the President is “hateful speech”? That would mean that a whole bunch of Democrat leftists are guilty of “hateful speech”.
People who demonize free speech are dead to me. I’ll have nothing to do with them.
There are plenty of companies that would want to advertise on the Beck show and if recent history is any indication, the losing of advertisers did not seem to hurt David Letterman.
I just called Sargento and read them the riot act about the First Ammendment. No more of their products in my home. Their mozzarella is excellent and I use it in my Italian recipes but no more. The consumer affairs woman was stunned. I say pour it on Freepers.

Anyone have a quote of the “hate speech”? I swear I can’t find it.
Unlike Geico, Progressive, Radio Shack and a few other companies Van Johnson, Obama's Green CZAR and Luis Farrakhan run Color of Change group has managed to have pull ads from Glenn Beck's program, I actually use(d) a LOT of Sargento Cheese products.... no more... just as I go out of my way to not buy Tyson Chicken I will go out of my way to never purchase another Sargento product.

I just went to their site and sent them an email that said I like their cheeses and I like Glenn Beck, but henceforth I’ll continue to watch Beck but stop buying their cheeses.
Furthermore, I told them I’m going to suggest this strategy to everyone that I can.
