In an August 2008 interview with ABC John Edwards denies that he is the father of his mistress' baby. Edwards also says he is open to a paternity test.

He is supposed to announce today that he is indeed the father of his 18-month-old daughter by his mistress. Guess he and Elizabeth wanted to see how many copies of her treacly book they could sell before he confessed. The child is the spitting image of him, so this charade was going to have to end soon.
