See, that's the point. You 'heard reports'. The problem with that is that a simple search of State Department travel restrictions to Pakistan shows that there were none at that time.
That doesn't stop those who want to push this issue in all directions from posting 'reports'; knowing that, as with the Kenyan BC hoax that captured this forum two weeks ago, there are thousands willing to believe anything.

FYI- Travel by Americans to Pakistan in 1981 was not banned by the U.S. Or by Pakistan. It was so easy to travel there that Pakistan was issuing 30-day visas to American tourists at the airports unpon arrival in the country. Several times here on FR, I’ve posted the document number and text of the 1981 travel advisory issued by the U.S. State Department.
If you search for it, you can find it. The rumor that it was illegal or difficult somehow for Americans to travel to Pakistan isn’t true.
I think you are wrong. Be embarrassed if you want, that’s your problem. I think it entirely likely that he traveled to Pakistan as an adult on an Indonesian passport, and that, to me, is a fact that the American people are entitled to. I think he was most likely born in Hawaii, but I agree that he should be required to show his actual birth certificate to prove his eligibility for the Presidency. I also oppose him on principle. I think he had 36 or 37 issued in his name and a bunch more in his mother’s. Sounds like a coordinated scam operation. And like a previous reply it’s been all over the ‘net.

And, please don't trot out the 'he went to Indo first to get a Indo PP so he could travel to Pakistan' notion. Since there were no restrictions on US travel to Pakistan he would not need one.
