Obama Says Bush Ignoring 'Quiet Riot' Among Blacks

HAMPTON, Virginia — Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama said Tuesday that the Bush administration has done nothing to defuse a "quiet riot" among blacks that threatens to erupt just as riots in Los Angeles did 15 years ago.
The first-term senator said that with black people from New Orleans and the Gulf Coast still displaced 20 months after Hurricane Katrina, frustration and resentments are building.
"This administration was colorblind in its incompetence," Obama said at a conference of black clergy, "but the poverty and the hopelessness was there long before the hurricane.
"All the hurricane did was to pull the curtain back for all the world to see," he said.

Repeatedly, he referred to the riots that erupted in Los Angeles after a jury acquitted four police officers of assault charges in the 1991 beating of Rodney King, a black motorist, after a high-speed chase. Fifty-five people died and 2,000 were injured in several days of riots in the city's black neighborhoods.
"Those 'quiet riots' that take place every day are born from the same place as the fires and the destruction and the police decked out in riot gear and the deaths," Obama said. "They happen when a sense of disconnect settles in and hope dissipates. Despair takes hold and young people all across this country look at the way the world is and believe that things are never going to get any better."
Repeatedly, with evangelical zeal, he raised issues that roused the crowd: increasing the minimum wage and teacher pay, funding for public schools and college financial aid for the poor, ending predatory lending and expediting the reconstruction of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast.

A baby attacked by rats bled to death in her Louisiana crib while an Ohio infant lost two toes to the vicious rodents in a pair of bizarre attacks.
Three people were charged with child endangerment after authorities determined that the six-week-old Ohio baby had been bitten repeatedly by rodents "over a lengthy period of time," the Pike County sheriff department said.
But charges have not yet been filed in the case of the Louisiana child who bled to death last week from hundreds of rat bites, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reported.
The girl's father was found screaming outside his home when paramedics arrived and her parents told police they did not hear the three-month-old cry out when she was attacked during her nap time.
Neighbours told the Picayune that the children always appeared well-cared for and that the father had recently set out traps for the rats that plagued the area. A funeral was held on Friday.

This is a flash from the past when Obama was a senator. Quiet riot my foot. The Community Organizer was trying to foment an unquiet riot out of it, and still keeps trying to do so as President though in different ways.
My uncle was attacked by a huge rat when he was a little child...it latched onto his neck..scarred him for life pretty badly...nasty wound...that story always freaked me out...i friggin’ HATE rats!

Interesting that he has now created MILLIONS of “community organizers who actually work and pay taxes, young and old alike who are now willing to fight back against his socialistic dreams for the US.
And to think that it took a snapshot from a stray Bush campaign ad, complained about by Gore partisans, to bring to light the likeness between the human and rodent Rats. The meme has been very alive and well here ever since!

A story about the rats the killed the baby in the New Orleans area was posted here a few weeks ago.
However, the case is still tragic and the parents who were caring for their baby should be locked up in prison. Moreover, the parents who permitted their baby to be eaten alive by rats are no different than those who kept their children in New Orleans during Katrina.
I am not sure what it is with those people in New Orleans that would allow such a thing to happen to their baby.
I wonder what Black Americans will do, when they (the ones that actually vote) realise, *they* are among those who are at or near the top of the list of people this DemoGoon DeathCare Act, will deny medical treatments?
