Ex-Clinton aide named in prison case

Staffer for then-governor faces charges of smuggling items onto death row

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - A former chief of staff for Bill Clinton when he was governor of Arkansas faces felony charges accusing her of trying to smuggle a knife and 48 tattoo needles onto the state's death row.

The charges against Betsey Wright come as The Associated Press obtained documents showing death-row inmate allegedly passed love letters and contraband to a guard with whom he committed a sex act.

Combined, the events represent just the latest in a series of high-profile incidents at the state prison system, ranging from two convicted murderers escaping in guard uniforms to a man being shot to death at a contraband checkpoint

I never liked the idea of women working in prisons for men. It’s even worse when they are 300 pound women who are desperate for any attention from a man. There are a lot of women who are weak and desperate enough to fall for the sweet talk of these losers. The other problem is the physical ability of a 300 pound women. If you’re getting stomped by inmates and help has to run almost 1/4 mile to get to you, what kind of assistance is a 300 pound female going to provide assuming she makes it there? They would probably have to call a medical code to treat her. If they want to hire women they need to do a better job of screening them.

Betsy Wright was the staffer that all the "women allegations" came to during BJ's Governor days. She obviously did her job well in covering up, paying off and keeping secrets. My, oh my, the stories she could tell...
