WASHINGTON – A swastika was found Tuesday painted on a sign outside Rep. David Scott's district office, an act the Georgia Democrat said reflects an increasingly hateful and racist debate over health care and should serve as a reminder for people to tone down their rhetoric.
Scott's staff arrived at his Smyrna, Ga., office Tuesday morning to find the Nazi graffiti emblazoned on a sign bearing the lawmaker's name. The vandalism occurred roughly a week after Scott was involved in a contentious argument over health care at a community meeting.
Scott, who is black, said he also has received mail in recent days that used N-word references to him, and that characterized President Barack Obama as a Marxist.
"We have got to make sure that the symbol of the swastika does not win, that the racial hatred that's bubbling up does not win this debate," Scott said in a telephone interview. "There's so much hatred out there for President (Barack) Obama."

It is also possible that one of his flaming leftist supporters did it to generate sympathy and smear conservatives by creating suspicion that it was done by a conservative.
These things almost always turn out to have been done by the "victim" himself or one of his supporters.
There is a lot of power in victimhood. Leftists know this and don't waste time assuming the role of a victim. They can't afford to wait for a conservative to victimize them, so they victimize themselves anonymously and then blame conservatives by false implication.

Look now it took a lot of gerrymandering to lay out his district. It's not his fault that there was one white guy still left in it.

Is that really what a nazi sign should look like? I thought that it is more perpendicular to the ground. In other words, you would think someone truly of that faith would have posted the sign correctly. the guy is definitely right handed, and painted this standing just to the right of the sign, based on the shorter tails.
I really doubt the more I think about this, that some right winger would have posted this esp from the South. You would think more like KKK or some racial slur. The nazi sign makes no sense. I mean is the person saying that Scott is a nazi? Or that Obama is using nazi tactics? No Pelosi isinuates that the people at these town halls ARE NAZIS!!!!! The only nazi sign I’ve seen is one where the NAZI sign is crossed out.
In other words, conservatives have used the nazi sign to infer that Obama’s administration is very much like the early years of Hitler. The czars...the goons... the staged rallies etc... You can find several ominous similarities.

Now, today, just when Rep. Scott could use a little sympathy from the public, we get a report that Scott has been a victim of a hate-crime--a swastika was spraypainted on a sign outside of his office.
In recent years self-inflicted hate crimes have come into vogue among certain citizens on the right and the left.
Of course sometimes "hate crimes" are real (for example, this spring a College Democrat desecrated crosses at George Washington University with graffiti and condoms). It's possible that a neo-Nazi actually vandalized Rep. Scott's offices. But given the fact that the Nazi imagery so neatly dovetails with the left's smearing of health-care protesters as fascists, isn't it more likely that this act of vandalism was committed by one of Scott's supporters?"
When the police find out that a democrat painted it, all public discussion of the “event” will cease.
