Washington, DCU.S. Senator Jim Webb (D-VA) will embark Sunday on a two-week, five-nation tour of Asia to explore opportunities to advance U.S. interests in Burma and the region. Webb was named chairman of the East Asia and Pacific Affairs Subcommittee of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in February.
Senator Webb will be the first United States Member of Congress to visit the nation of Burma in more than ten years. He will also hold meetings with government representatives and industry leaders in Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia.

Maybe he’s going to Asia to get some more “material” for his next novel.

There is no business in Burma. That is why nobody goes there. Webb wants a taxpayer paid vacation in Asia. That is all this is.

In case anyone’s wondering, Webb’s wife is Vietnamese, a naturalized U.S. citizen and a lawyer. Webb allegedly speaks Vietnamese.

Town Halls, I will be a cave in Burma. Isn’t Burma the first thing that would occur to you when looking for US opportunities worldwide?

Maybe we’ll get lucky.
The Burmese will seize him, demand ransom and no one will be willing to pay! Then Bill Clinton will go over and say really stupid things again, further embarrassing the Democrats.

Webb probably going to investigate teen boys in Thailand again. Freaking pedophile. Virginia should be ashamed.

I was told by the owner of the Hard Rock Cafe in Kuala Lumpur that many American politicians and State Dept.officials have been in there looking for hookers.

He barely squeaks by Allen after the Macaca incident after campaigning as a “moderate.” Not surprisingly he immediately headed left and is nothing more than a rubber stamp for the liberal agenda. I wrote him once during the great amnesty sham, voicing my opposition to the legislation. I received a letter back basically accusing me of being a racist. It would be a major understatement to say that I have zero respect for this guy. He is bad for Virginia and bad for our country.
To: Maelstorm
Any American politician who gives support to Burma by going there and, at least tacitly, negotiating, is dangerous. Just like visiting Kim Jong Il, IMHO

Yep, Thailand is the world capital of pedophilia and probably the sex trade in general.
Virginians must be so proud.
