Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) is working behind the scenes to help Democrats craft a new version of former President Bush's immigration reform bill. Graham also supported the Bush/Kennedy/McCain bill back in 2007. As The Wall Street Journal reports:
Wes Hickman, a spokesman for Mr. Graham, said in a statement that "Senator Graham is ready and willing to play a key role in immigration reform. He intends to work with many of his colleagues on both sides of the aisle."
The new bill will most likely be introduced in September by Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), and Graham has been working with his colleague in search of other Republican votes. President Obama had pledged to tackle immigration reform in his first year of office, but on Friday he issued a statement saying he hoped Congress would pass legislation early in 2010.

Especially because he is clearly trying to position himself to run for president like McCain, and with primaries beginning in liberal states, we are going to have this loser shoved down our throats. And I don’t think he would get as much support from the base as McCain did.

CONSERVATIVE states should start a movement to have THEIR primaries AS EARLY as possible.
If “Immigration Reform” means a stronger fence and troops on the border, then I’m in favor of it.
The GOP called the other day asking for contributions, They were told “hell no” because of Rinos like Graham, Snowe, Collins etc. Give to individual Pubbies who demonstrate a backbone with conservative principles. Graham doesn’t come up for election now, but when he does he must be defeated.
Don’t forget Sotomayor had to have at least one republican vote to get out of committee and to the floor for a vote.Guess who that one vote was?
A liberal Republican is the same as a liberal democrat. The (R) and (d) behind their names is only a tool used to win elections in certain areas. After they get to Washington, very few Americans pay attention to what they do there.
They never expected people to actually pay attention to the health care bill. They thought they could just claim it was good for us and we'd say "OK."
I hope, finally, the people have learned to pay attention to what these dictator politicians are doing.
I've said it before - We can live without their money, but they can't live without ours. They need a certain number of tax slaves to pay for all this, and they're going to soak them for everything they have left this time.
But...the stupid slaves will keep right on working overtime, buying, and building to keep the elites and their dependents in power. They'll still work themselves to death and the tax money will still flow like fine wine into the Capitol like it always has. Not one thing will change for the better.

If I was in the Senate (a very scary thing :) I think I'd run the other way every time I saw Franken.
Let's not start that, you would be hard pressed to find anyone on FR that voted for him.
The democrat party didn't even field a candidate, Lindsey was reelected by moderates and democrats.
I assume you Virginians are electing clean slates of solid conservatives?
When I said “you South Carolinians,” I didn’t mean SC Swamp Fox in particular.
And, yes, my fellow Virginians have been outvoted by the northern 2/7ths of the state, which is really a DC suburb that has voted 60 to 70 percent for Zer0 and other Democrats in the last few elections.
