Perhaps because cyclists grow proficient making decisions at 40 mph (or more) balanced atop tires only 23mm wide they can *adjust* more easily to outside stimuli. Same thing is learned via rugged mountainbike riding.

The ability to regain balance, allow the mind to decrease speed, and not "freak-out" likely carries into other areas of life.

The significant cohort the bicyclists community, including professionals such as racers, writers, publishers and bike shop owners and tradesmen, who advocate aggressive attitudes while bicycling are endangering the great majority of bicyclists.

After an incident this weekend, that involved two foul-mouthed and aggressive cyclists who refused to obey the posted signs requiring bikes to be walked across a narrow bridge crosswalk, and refused to obey the bridge guard’s direct instruction to them to walk their bikes, whereupon they nearly ran me down at the other end of the bridge, I did some google research for “aggressive cyclists”.

I discovered that some cycling magazine articles ADVOCATE AGGRESSIVE CYCLING. And that cyclist blogs and reactions to news account of cycle accidents make clear that there is a dangerously aggressive attitude rampant in the community.

That was not the experience I had with the "Specialized" owners this weekend.

It’s too bad. Most of the bike-riders that I’ve ever dealt with are decent people, these clowns are out giving everybody a bad name.

These fools aren’t in it to to get in shape or have fun with the family like most bikers, they’re doing it to get drunk and cause trouble. Weird.
