The Chutzpah of the Town Hall Libel
The American Thinker ^ | August 09, 2009 | Sally Zelikovsky

Posted on 08/09/2009 2:19:27 AM PDT by Scanian

Democrat bigwigs and their media shills have concocted a libelous narrative of the town hall phenomenon that has shaken up the party's health care plans. They meet the classic definition of Chutzpah, as explained by Leo Rosten in the Joy of Yiddish:

Gall, brazen nerve, effrontery, incredible "guts"; presumption plus arrogance such as no other word, and no other language, can do justice to. A Chutzpanik may be defined as the man who shouts, "Help! Help!" while beating you up.

A fair sample of the Democrats' narrative is provided by Bill Press' article "The Tea Baggers Are Back -- Crazy as Ever." One can only conclude that this amounts to a collective act of audacity so flamboyant and disgraceful, that even liberals are taking notice. And this is driving the press and our leadership batty. Like the man above, Press cries "Help, help, they're protesting!" while he and those around him protest and have been for decades. His article is an expertly crafted verbal sleight of hand reminiscent of the fascist hooligans to which he likens today's tea party protesters. In his opening salvo he declares:

Ah, democracy! It never works better than when informed citizens gather in town hall meetings to discuss and debate the issues of the day.

But, oh, democracy! It's never more damaged than when partisan zealots plot to disrupt town hall meetings in order to prevent any honest debate of the issues.

That's Chutzpah, Bill, because if you did your journalistic homework, like, I don't know, actually spoke with some of us, you might have ascertained we are truly non-partisan -- you can ask the Hillary Pumas or the disgruntled Democrats and independents suffering from buyer's remorse about that. You would also learn that probably less than 1% of us are actually zealots

Bill Press is a communist from the 60’s. He comes from the same school as Obamas mentors. He has been waiting his whole life for this moment and will go insane when we stop them.
The Democrats have become totally totalitarian and are a clear threat to Freedom and the Constitution.
They are becoming desperate and pathetic. The one thing driving them off the wall the most is Taxpayers protesting in the streets. They have always considered the street “their turf”. As Reagan said..I paid for this street!

Keep on talking Bill. All you are doing is pissing off the middle. A storm is brewing and these geniuses are pouring on gasoline.

Even the First Amendment has limits. Press is a smug POS who tolerates no dissent from HIS view of the world.

Personally, I feel that I have been maligned, slandered and libeled in a coordinated attack on my beliefs. Certainly, the Constitution does not protect members of Congress who libel honest citizens. I believe these offenses come under the heading of “high crimes and misdemeanors”.

I know it is too much to ask Congress to do their job, so civil suits are in order. If that doesn’t work, maybe civil disobedience will. If it doesn’t, ???

What to do if civil disobedience doesn't work? Hmmm...maybe "uncivil disobedience"?

“A Chutzpahnik may be defined as the man who yells ‘Help! Help’ while he’s beating you up.”

And the one who makes the complaint of assault, who complains to the police and makes a false report, who goes to a lawyer and lies about the incident, who institutes a civil suit, who goes to congress and writes up a bill filled with conditions that he denies exist and then calls you a nazi and a racist when you disagree with those conditions.

It’s commonly called tyranny; from the streets to the offices of government.

IMHO

The one thing driving them off the wall the most is Taxpayers protesting in the streets.

A much more effective way for taxpayers to protest would be to do NOTHING. Govt would dry up like a slug in the noonday sun.

Nothing is civil when lawyers lobby for making everything a criminal prosecutable matter when it comes on private health care choices. These freeloading fascists out for a buck for everyone who actualy work for it are invoking the very uncivil behaviors they claim they fight against.

Chutzpah is right. Congress is making everything a matter of criminality and then complains of “uncivil” behavior.

“Give me a break”

There are no two sides to this debate, but one and only one side: Congress criminals and their lawyer friends who are criminalizing every single aspect of life.

Yes and no. Another way would be extreme zeal in enjoyment of what we have left while others of ours show extreme zeal in gathering for some future fruits.

It’s a bounce off type counter. Crouch down in reserve and then unleash in zeal.

More damage by them needs to be done yet. The language, and not just the criminals, must be abolished. Anything other than that would be yet another BS Gorbatchevian Perestroika. A commi is always a commi because he cannot survive in his eyes without the original criminal language. It’s the essence of the “Move On” strategy.

Their problem is the rationist tack. They try to alleviate it with abortion, but drinking and STDs is devastating them because the providers are corrupt who take even more advantage of them. They have no faith, no zeal, no trust, and their idiocy daily showing in their lies will find themselves to deepen and show their denial more than the empowerment pride they hope to derive out of it.

No, but the courts do: ref. the judgment applying a law stating “no federal employee in execution of his office may be held to civil suit” to John Mrtha’s nationally televised slander of marines acting in a war-zone BEFORE any investigation took place.

I think the law the Citizenry will have to appeal to is the Law of Physics.

The axiom is

You can fool some of the people all of the time
You can fool all of the people some of the time
But
You can’t fool all of the people all of the time

The campaign was too easy..... the scales are falling away
