Jury Hears Ex-Mistress (for 9 hours - John Edwards RAT-NC funneled loot to his former girlfriend?)

Jury Hears Ex-Mistress
BY JOHN KRAHNERT III: STAFF WRITER

John Edwards is back in the public spotlight, this time as a federal grand jury investigates whether his presidential campaign illegally funneled money to his former mistress.

Filmographer Rielle Hunter -- who had an affair with the former North Carolina senator and presidential candidate -- spent nine hours in a Raleigh courthouse Thursday testifying in front of the grand jury. A federal investigation on the use of Edwards' campaign money continues.

Edwards, who grew up in the northern Moore County town of Robbins, has denied any wrongdoing on the part of his campaign.

According to the Associated Press, Edwards' political action committee (PAC) paid Hunter $100,000 for film services in 2006 and an additional $14,086 on April 1, 2007, despite having only around $8,000 on hand. Edwards' presidential campaign paid the PAC $14,034 the same day for "furniture."

Hunter was photographed walking into the Raleigh courthouse Thursday with her 18-month-old daughter, Frances. It has been widely speculated that Edwards is the father of the child, though he has publicly denied the claims and no paternity test has been done.

Just think that the press knew about this and sat on the story, when they knew that it would force Edwards out of the Iowa race. With him out, Hillary probably would have won. (Better the she-devil than Lucifer himself!)

In all honesty, why is this being prosecuted now, after the election is over and the damage is done? If campaign finance laws were to have any effect, candidates would literally be pulled off the trail if they were caught engaging in wrongdoing.

Sending John Edwards to prison now accomplishes nothing.

But in June The New York Daily News reported that Young said in a tell-all book proposal that Edwards implored him to claim paternity of the child. In exchange, Edwards pledged to "take care" of Young "for life." Young said in the book proposal that the child is in fact Edwards'.

I always loved this angle. Can you imagine Andrew Young coming home to his wife and two small children?

"Honey, we are set for life!! Life, I tell you!! Oh my gosh!!!" After they finish dancing around the kitchen, he continues, "There is this one little, teeny catch... We are going to pretend Rielle Hunter's baby is mine, that I had an affair and cheated on you. Yes, you will be scorned and mocked everywhere you go, but you can't tell a SOUL. Oh yeah, Andy Jr. will be a laughingstock in his class, but we will be RICH!! Think of that!!!"

In too many ways, Edwards blazed the path for Obama: An inexperienced,
golden-tongued, less-than-single-term, habitually absentee Marxist
Senator who made a habit of ducking tough issues and traded mostly on
his fetching youthful looks, talent for spinning gossamer imagery and
heart-swelling life story. The odious John Kerry legitimized him by
naming him as VP nominee, and thus the die was cast for Obama, after
just 143 days in office, to embark on the monument to hubris that was
his campaign. What a shame that the shallow, vain narcissist Edwards
wasn’t laughed off the stage in 2004; it might have spared us Obama.

At least we have this.

Edwards Home County's Largest
The 28,200-square-foot home also Orange County's most valuable

The 28,200-square-foot Edwards home in Orange County is expected to be valued at more than $6 million. RALEIGH — Presidential candidate John Edwards and his family recently moved into what county tax officials say is the most valuable home in Orange County. The house, which includes a recreational building attached to the main living quarters, also is probably the largest in the county.

“The Edwardses’ residential property will likely have the highest tax value in the county,” Orange County Tax Assessor John Smith told Carolina Journal. He estimated that the tax value will exceed $6 million when the facility is completed.

The rambling structure sits in the middle of a 102-acre estate on Old Greensboro Road west of Chapel Hill. The heavily wooded site and winding driveway ensure that the home is not visible from the road. “No Trespassing” signs discourage passersby from venturing past the gate.

Don Knight, Orange County building plans examiner, told CJ that, including the recreational building, the Edwardses’ home would be one of the largest in Orange County.

Knight approved the building plans that showed the Edwards home totaling 28,200 square feet of connected space. The main house is 10,400 square feet and has two garages. The recreation building, a red, barn-like building containing 15,600 square feet, is connected to the house by a closed-in and roofed structure of varying widths and elevations that totals 2,200 square feet.

The main house is all on one level except for a 600-square-foot bedroom and bath area above the guest garage.

The recreation building contains a basketball court, a squash court, two stages, a bedroom, kitchen, bathrooms, swimming pool, a four-story tower, and a room designated “John’s Lounge.”

Edwards was the Democratic candidate for vice president in 2004 and a former N.C. senator.

Thursday afternoon, the Edwards for President press office was unable to provide information on any additional buildings planned for the estate.

“Just think that the press knew about this and sat on the story, when they knew that it would force Edwards out of the Iowa race.”

The press covers up scandals all the time, along with the candidate’s fellow politicians.

Remember Gov. Jim “I am a gay American” McGreevey, after he stepped down there were many people who came clean to say that they knew of his homosexual escapades.

Today’s “press” manipulate’s the news to fit their agenda. Sadly, I see this practice getting worse. They are no longer journalists but propagandists.

I think that it’s a very good idea for him to go to prison, maybe he can share a cell with bruno and they can get married so that the sex will be legal.

Oh wait, no marriage, he can just be a sex toy to be passed around with bruno being his pimp.

The reason why I believe that it is pointless to go after him now is because the government did not pull him out of the race to prosecute him when it actually mattered. When 0bama was campaigning, he allowed for unverified donations to be made with credit cards. This too flouted the law but nothing was done about it during the campaign.

If campaign finance law is to mean anything, then there should be real consequences for violating it, as in, being pulled off the ballot for whatever office the accused is seeking. Only at that point will such prosecutions matter.

Besides, we already saw 0bama's DOJ bless the actions of Blank Panthers who engaged in electoral intimidation, does anyone really think that same DOJ will investigate possible illegal donations to the 0bama campaign?

I quit the media years ago, I now look at it just to see the anti-adverting. ALL advertising in the media is refused in this house. I call it anti-advertisers from the media.

I won’t even pick up the complementary papers at hotels, I walk all over them just as they have walked over the American public for so many years.

We don’t have a two party system. We have one coin labeled dem on one side and rep on the other. I gave thousands to bush for his presidential run the first time, nada on the next because I started seeing so much corruption on BOTH sides.

I voted neither in this last election and I am extremely proud of that decision. I told everyone to vote for who they wanted instead of against who they didn’t want.

Even my elderly parents now agree I did the right thing even though they were mad as *(* at the time.

Yes isn’t it interesting that in both the 2 main political parties, there are both “conservatives” and “liberals”. So, no matter who you vote for, there is very little chance chance of getting representation of your beliefs and views.

Conservatives have been betrayed constantly by the country club liberal Republicans. Now, the liberal DemonRats are seeing something similar happen to them with the relatively conservative Blue Dogs.

How hard would it be to have one party represent the liberals, and one party represent the conservatives? Let the people vote on principal and let the chips fall where they may.

The fix has been in for a long time with these 2 political parties.
