When we last heard from former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin she was -- not without some justification -- beseeching some members of the media to "quit making things up."
But in a post on her Facebook Page today, the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee seemed to take some liberties of her own.
In a column titled "Statement on the Current Health Care Debate," Palin wrote that as "Americans delve into the disturbing details of the nationalized health care plan that the current administration is rushing through Congress, our collective jaw is dropping, and were saying not just no, but hell no!"
She questions Democratic promises that the health care reform plans will reduce the cost of health care, invoking economist Thomas Sowell, saying the only way to cut costs is to refuse treatment.
"And who will suffer the most when they ration care?" Palin asks. "The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course. The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obamas 'death panel' so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their 'level of productivity in society,' whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil."
One can question whether there will by necessity be any rationing decisions that will need to come as a part of health care reform (and, in fact, we have) but pictures of government bureaucrats forcing euthanasia upon seniors -- and, now, children with Down syndrome -- because they're not productive members of society are not part of any reasonable debate on the facts of the matter.

Jake’s been a hero, but he misses the boat on this one. Is he not familiar with the work of Rahm’s brother?
Given how politics played into the closure of various GM and Chrysler dealerships, it is only reasonable to conclude that politics will also play a role in who gets health care and who does not get health care. I would imagine that anyone who doesn’t agree with 0bama will be at the very, very bottom of the list when it come to getting any health care. I can’t exactly blame Gov. Palin for being concerned.
I have a severely disabled grand daughter.
I know EXACTLY how Sarah feels!
I will kill the first SOB that tells me my little girl does not deserve the best care available!
So if there is prossibly going to be rationing of health care, what rationale are they going to use? It is perfectly reasonable that they will be looking at the elderly and mentally handicap as the first to be sacrificed for the better good of the village.
Awwwwwwwwwwwwww, I bet Sarah is crying in a corner because the All Barack Channel doesn’t agree with her LOL
Now I see, just read through to the rest of Jake’s piece. It’s Palin’s third-rate publicist, Meg, who’s missed the boat again. She steers Jake to the funding for end of life issues, but not to the work of Obama’s healthcare advisor, Ezekiel Emanuel—who is actually referenced in Palin’s post.
ping for later
Fortunately, the ordinary folks sense something is really, really wrong with all this.
Here’s the spin we’ll be seeing for a few days—fake moral outrage over extremist Sarah, oh, the unfairness of it!
Even the private plans are eventually going to have to conform to the treatment standards of Obama’s ‘death panel’, and that’s where Ezekiel’s work, where he does say care should be prioritized by age and social utility, would be realized.
Palin’s spot on in her piece, but her publicist dropped the ball in communicating with Tapper.
Meg communicated with Tapper? I think he is just repeating what she said in the article
Reading the comments at the end is like visiting DU.
To people like the Jake, Trig is just another useless mouth...
Hey turd tapper... read the frickin bill jerk.

to highlight Rahm Emmanuel’s “ethics doctor” brother and his view on the kind of care those with dementia should receive....and other fun topics.
Of course it sounds far fetched to think of such things happening in this country.....but not with the 44 Czars and especially not with Dr. Mengele in Obama’s healthcare entourage.....
Here’s the paragraph I’m referring to, where Meg completely blows it:
“Asked specifically what the former governor was referring to when painting a picture of an Obama “death panel” giving her parents or son Trig a thumbs up or down based on their productivity, Palin spokeswoman Meghan Stapleton responded in an email: “From HR3200 p. 425 see ‘Advance Care Planning Consultation’.”
Lol! He IS a turd-tapper ;-)

ObamaCare's response to baby Trig.
Obama advisor would ration medical care to seniors, young children, the demented ... Ezekiel Emanuel, special advisor to Peter Orzag, Obama's director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and brother to White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel ... has written in medical journals of how health care should be rationed, with priority given to younger people over seniors and over those suffering from dementia ... Ezekiel also believes that very young children should be lower on the priority list than younger people who have received public educations ... Ezekiel argued for limiting health care for individuals who are irreversibly prevented from being or becoming participating citizens. He cited "not guaranteeing health services to patients with dementia as an example. Why do I feel like Sarah's right, and Trig would be cut off by a spiteful obama administration?

A liberal will NEVER say a bad word about another liberal, and especially will never say a bad thing about Obama. Liberalism IS a disease, hmm, since it is a disease, I wonder under Obama’s DeathCare, will it be covered..inquiring minds wanna know
Great point...make no mistake “end of life care”, “end of life counseling”, call it what you want. Somebody is going to cut costs come Hell or high water and it will begin with the 80 year old who needs a pacemaker! Rahm’s brother is all for containing costs and one way to do that is by the government denying treatment or procedures that Medicare covers now. Pay out of your own pocket or die! Too extreme you say? Let the wolf get his foot in the door and watch what happens.
Seriously??! Then report them to flag@whitehouse.gov!!
God Bless you, and that is the passion that is needed in this country. Our family also has special needs adult “children” and we’re all doing just fine thank you very much ZERO. And yes, we treasure all life and see the value and potential promise in all life.
I would add that in our extended family, our “special needs” adults teach US, the family is their caregivers but we’re the ones blessed.
LOL...the site is currently bogged down with people reporting Sarah Palin’s “fishy” statement.
Tapper may have been one of the least in-the-tank reporters for Obama before the election, but still means that he was in the tank for the 0ne.

LOL...the site is currently bogged down with people reporting Sarah Palins fishy statement.
Yeah I bet Sarah is pooing her pants at the thought of Obama’s Brown Shirts coming to her door demanding she take back her comments. I bet Sarah is being reported as we speak. I would not even be surprised
She’s probably already cleaned her guns and is stocked up on ammo, LOL.
- JP
Yep, I wouldn’t want to mess around with Sarah Palin when she is armed. She is clinging to that gun and she isn’t afraid to use it.
I like the idea of Todd staying close, helping out with the kids—and keeping an eye out for the crazies.
Oh course Sarah is right.
1)40 million uninsured added to system
2) Zero new Doctors to attend to these folks.
3) 10-12 years to train said Doctors.
Equals rationed care
“Is he not familiar with the work of Rahms brother?”
Rahm’s brother has written (paraphrasing) that it’s more important to save a sixteen year old than a six year old, because more is invested in the sixteen year old. Sick.
Save them BOTH!
And what a great missed opportunity to get Tapper focused on Ezekiel’s work—given that he’s at the center of what Obama’s administration is doing with healthcare.
The democrats favorite saw, It's for the chiiiiildren, is now turned upside down. Welcome to Sparta. If you want health care, you'd better survive until you are old enough to contribute.
They have turned class warfare sideways. It's no longer the rich capitalists against the poor downtrodden little guy. It's now those forced into government health care against the exempt union and government employees. Have diabetes? Work for the government or no insulin for you! Kidney transplant? Not unless you work in a closed union shop! Get to the back of the list.
Baby Boomers are now Baby Burdens. Take your pain medication. It will all be over soon. No more will Grandma have to decide between food and medication. She won't get a prescription. Don't fall. Those hips are the only ones you get. But at least she doesn't have to eat dog food anymore!
Want to see a doctor? There aren't many left after the government started setting their fees. If your doctor is over 50 he is about to retire. No one can afford nine years of college just to get paid the same as a truck driver.
Want to go to med school? Better have a compelling story. Middle class suburban backgrounds need not apply. Good test scores are nice, but they won't help you here. That's in the bill, too. If a college want the government money they better be as diverse and empathetic as possible.
The only competent doctors and nurses work for the private union clinics. They still pay well. You? You get what's left.
Man, it's tough being a populist democrat these days.
There is no "possibly." Nationalizing anything and lowering its price will lead, and must lead, to rationing. When government lowers the price below what the free market would set, demand increases WITHOUT causing any economic incentive for producers to supply more of the good or service. Result: a shortage. To deal with the inevitable shortage, government WILL resort to rationing.
Tapper is ignorant of economics and seems incapable of projecting the consequences of regulation into the future. Like many, he confuses "intentions" with "results."
Romney on ObamaCare: Slow downJindal on ObamaCare: Go slow
Sarah on ObamaCare: HELL NO!
Which one is representing your opinion on ObamaCare?
I’m not a Hot Air guy but Michelle Malkin’s attitude about what a lot of people say goes on over there is a mystery to me as well.
How about Obama care FORCING her to have an abortion based on the knowlege that he wouldhave down’s syndrome?
Their hatred of Palin blinds them to the obvious statements by O advisers, where babies are not considered human beings until the age of 10-12. And who here thinks the government won't 'highly suggest' an abortion to any woman who is carrying a Down's baby? And denial of care to a Down's baby versus a healthy one?
What the hell kind of twisted reality are you Palin haters living in? And I'm not talking about the left. I'm talking about those on the right who hate Palin as much, if not more, than Obama.
What the hell is wrong with you? Would it kill you to admit, just once, that Palin is actually right about something?
And you are right, if Jindal or some other guy with an Ivy League education said or wrote something like this he would think it was amazing.
Yes, I know all about Allah. What’s HA?
Willie Brown once again will think he was right when he said of her, "best political instincts I have ever seen".
Headline:
Obama healthcare Czar to replace “Triage”
with “Balanced Care”. “The old harsh lexicon
must make way for a more careing term.”
HA = HotAir. Got it. Is Michelle a Palin fan? I don’t recall her saying much about Sarah.
