Where Does Prince Charles Get Off Decrying Capitalism?
FOXBusiness ^ | August 04, 2009 | David Asman

Posted on 08/06/2009 10:29:09 AM PDT by george76

There are few things more annoying than a millionaire socialist -- hearing someone condemn capitalism after they’ve already banked their million.

The only thing worse is a billionaire socialist. Folks like Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez make this list.

And now add to it Britain’s bonnie Prince Charles. Earlier this month the prince gave a lecture in which he blamed capitalism and consumerism for bringing the world to the brink of collapse and declared that the “age of convenience is over.” He warned that the world has just 96 months to avert "irretrievable climate and ecosystem collapse, and all that goes with it."

Now here’s a royal brat who has spent his life wanting for nothing and being waited on hand and foot…and he’s lecturing the rest of us about consumerism? ... Let him fire the dozens of servants and parlor maids he has waiting on him 24/7.

This is a guy who’s indulged in anything he ever wanted, and he’s got the nerve to tell us that the days of convenience and capitalism are over?

What a moron. Hey charles, what’s happened to royal families of nations who fell under communism?

Bad track record.

Royal family = world’s wealthiest welfare recipients... or least attractive zoo attraction. Take your pick.

There is a website dedicated to unmasking the British royal family, but I can’t remember the name of it offhand.

He warned that the world has just 96 months to avert "irretrievable climate and ecosystem collapse, and all that goes with it."

If "all that goes with it" means continued socialist control of the American government and economy, then I'm all for irretrievable climate and ecosystem collapse in 96 months.

Like mother like son...Diane was an idiot but because she was pretty, she got lots of good press...I had a argument with my daughter when Di died....She thought it a great loss and I just told her if Di had been fat and homely and said the same things, no one would pay any attention to her..just a good clothes horse..

England always had this love and hate relationship with capitalism and industralization. Look at the lyric to hymn Jersualem:

“And was Jerusalem builded here
Among those dark Satanic mills?”

A common intrepretation is mills refers to the new factories that were popping up all over.

In Charlotte Bronte’s Shirley the ending scene refers to a once green hill that has become spoilt from the factory run by the two heroines husbands.

Bonnie Prince Charles is just another intellectual, using the term loosely, taking shots at industralization and capitalism.

Charles comes from good stock. His mom was a crackerjack grease monkey during World War II and has always tried to conduct her office with dignity even when it cost her popularity, the dignified manner in which she tried to conduct Princess Di's funeral being a case in point. Charles father was also in the thick of things during World War II. I don't recall any idiotic political statements from either.

Charles would have been better off being sent to a military academy like his father and taught some disclipline.

Instead, like too many boomer's parents, they bent over backwards trying to give him opportunity and he repays them like a typical 60's era hippie by (1)not being able to control his schlong and (2)trying to tear down the very system which gave him the opportunities to be a full-time professional celebrity jerk.

LOL - Prince Charles' entire life is built on convenience. This is a man who has never earned a penny and has been guaranteed a cradle-to-grave life of luxury to be paid for by people who work and pay taxes. He rides around in private jets and chauffeured luxury cars and still manages to find the gall to lecture others on the evils of the overtaxed econo-boxes they use to get to work and earn money.

The man gives other ungrateful parasites a bad name.

I work everyday and live a modest lifestyle. I have everything I need and alot of what I want. I may never be rich but I am not poor. (been poor, tho) I feel very blessed to have what I have and I work everyday to maintain my lifestyle.

If, suddenly, some circumstances caused Chuck to lose everything and he was left with the exact worth that I have and had to work everyday..... he would kill himself.
If I suddenly had his wealth, I would think I was dreaming. I would do cartwheels in the street.

Its all about perspective , Chuckyboy. I guarantee I am still alot happier person than he is.

Really, Charles? OK, since you are the future king you can lead by example and get rid of all of your conveniences.

You can start by taking a 1 room flat in the poorest section of Liverpool and walking to your job at the fish factory.

Just Charles showing off his fine (in)breeding again

The belief that the British royal family is hopelessly inbred is a bit of a myth. If you look at the actual marriage patterns, monarchical spouses in the last century have been only distantly related, if at all: and it's many generations since the British monarch married anybody as close as a first cousin.
